Maybe hardcore gaming will take a hit, but gaming is on really good health. Between consoles expanding the target, and the fast rise of mobile gaming (already overtaking computer gaming for revenues in some countries), I don't see any risk of implosion for the gaming industry, at least for the companies able to evolve and adapt.
Isn't it clear?
OBLadi OBLada...
OBL... Osama Bin Laden!
This demonstrate three things:
1) The Beatles were the Antichrist
2) Political Correctness is crap
3) Either the guys who did that never listened to those songs, or they have very convoluted minds.
A vast majority (about 70%) of users use either RealPlayer or Windows Media Player. The latter is gaining market share every month. If you want a broad range of users to enjoy your content, you better choose one of the two formats.
Being a libertarian, I fear that the Bush administration will enforce restrictions, but Ashcroft seems to be a big advocate of privacy, and this is good for me.
And after all, I live in Italy, so I care less than the rest of you.:)
This is part of the Liberation news story, as translated by Babelfish:
Once, twice, three times. Pompière of service, decided to embed an opposition which improvises pyromaniac: " It is a tactic to shout with fire before there is fire ", reproached the Minister for the Culture the address of a line goguenarde. " It is good, the grass snakes? ", howl the RPR Patrick Devedjian.
Bad poetry, anyone?
In January, when it will hit the shops, I gonna get a Mitsubishi Trium Mondo (http://www.trium.net/products.asp?action=getMore& id=61). This phone, which I think will be available initially only in Europe, is a PDA with Phone, supporting WAP and GPRS standards for Internet browsing. It's really cool, and it comes with headphones and a MP3 player.
...I was betting for a PS2, when suddenly a MIG plane stormed my block, bombing the power central and leaving half of town without electricity for a day! And now I can figure who are the shady types that hangs on toy stores and treat everyone a gunpoint when a new PS2 arrives!
Maybe we have to send the G.I. Joe or the Masters of the Universe to punish Saddam... hope he hasn't his Mujadin Ken and Barbie ready!

Maybe Slashdot should begin to ask for a slice of the pie...:)
...by teaching him to appreciate girls and sex. Have him interested in the matter, and maybe he, with his superior brainpower, will be the first man on Earth to completely understand women. After, he can write a book and teach us too how to deal with them.:)
The feature they promote most on their website is that... THE DULUX PLAYER HAS A SEGA MASTER SYSTEM IN IT!
A Master System? Are we kidding?
What they suppose I should do with a 15 year old console?
Maybe they think that we don't really want to watch DVDs, but to play Sonic and Shinobi...
Crap.
They (Napster CEO and Bertelsmann CEO) said that Napster will continue to serve files for free to users, and that they will pose no limitations on that. They will offer an additional service, giving users the possibility to download "high quality MP3 from the BMG catalog (and the catalogs of willing partners)" paying a fee.
Now, this raises a few interesting questions:
1) How many people will choose to pay for a song when they can have it for free, even if the recording isn't so good (which i doubt, 'cause on Napster there are plenty of perfect recordings). Maybe they're going to filter files in the free section, limiting availability to those of low quality?
2) What will prevent me from downloading an "high-quality MP3" and post it in the free zone?
Do you have any insight?

Apparently the hackers were looking for some good or brilliant source code, and they weren't able to find it.
This explain also why Microsoft persons are sure that source code wasn't compromised: "It's impossible to make it worse than that" one spokeperson said.
Why we should consider a luddite as a hero? Biotech, corporations and the like help our world progress and our technology improve... or should all of us revert to farming, like Jose?
Yes, but if instead of people we take 1.000.000 monkeys, will Shakespeare's opus be rewritten faster, using Bonjour's networking capabilities?
