    The very same day I read it on the Opera web site (who posted the news on the 5th). What the fuck is up with that shit? I'm pissed. Maybe I didn't include a geeky enough comment or sing "I'm a geek and I'm okay, I code all night and I sleep all day" (appologies to Monty Python). Rant over.

    Umm, the last time I checked, anybody could go to ftp.suse.com and download it. My first SuSE was a cheapbytes CD. It cost the same as a RH CD, a Slackware CD, a Mandrake CD, a Debian CD.

    PCTEL modems for Winblows are total shit. We tell our customers right off the bat that we can not even guarantee the shitpile will even work with our service... If the tradition continues, I will tell people, "Get an external modem..."

    The fact that they called AOL an ISP.

    AOL is definitely NOT an ISP, they are a Content Provider, just like MSN and Compuserve.
    As a tech for an ISP, I have a hell of a time explaining this to new customers that call in and wonder why, when they click on the connect button, it just sits there counting up the time and nothing else happens.

    I think it's one of those apps that's in a perpetual beta stage [kinda like ICQ for winbloze...]
    I used RHIDE it when I was still looking through Windows. I was happy when I discovered I could use it in the Open [source that is]. It came with my commercial copy of the SuSE[5.3 or 6.0 or 6.1- I canna remember] distro...

    You may have misinterpereted my story submission, or I just wasn't very clear in my explaination. It wasn't intended to be an announcement of the actual Linux port, per se, but an update on the latest news on the progress of the said port. Previously, Linux users weren't even in the running for an alpha release, now there is a light at the end of the beta-tunnel, so to speak...

    Are you refering to the article I posted or another earlier in the thread? If its the one I posted, I was simply posting the LATEST news [the news before my news was simply that Troll Tech was doing the port]. I've known about the linux port since Project Magic was started, as well as others here... appologies if i misinterpreted your post.

    Geek works for me. My brother, a mechanic, calls me a Geek.
    My dad, who taught me about computers, calls me a Geek.
    My wife calls me a Geek. She doesn't understand computers all that well but knows I have a life outside the machine, and don't break in to DOJ systems. But I like computers, write programs [if ya count 'hello, world' - baby steps, man], read Linux Journal and all ways fsck with the computer settings.
    Geek. It fits.
