I belive they managed to cram 4 (maybe just 2) machines into each 1u shelf that way. It looked warped due to the way the cardboard insulator was sticking up and out. They have a bazillion 1u shiny red machines now in a monster cage. Impressive to look down isles of them. Computer cases just take up space:)
I have noticed alot of computer compnets, 3d video cards being one, are hot to the touch even when they are not being used. Mind you they are much hotter when being used, but still... if it is not being used it should really be in deep sleep mode. Even my IBM thinkpad laptop still pumps out hot air when it is doing nothing but playing an mp3.
Getting theaters to stop showing that damn THX robot. I have stopped going to the local THX theater beacuase of dreading seeing that damn thing. Unfornatly they have they comfy seats:(
Try Eatman98 and Blue Submarine No. 6 on dvd
on
Essential Anime
·
· Score: 1
Eatman98 has some good story lines. Blue Submarine has some incredible sound and cgi animation. The box/dvd cover pictures sorta made it look to be old style animation and I was happily surpised by the animation and surround. Just waiting for the rest of the series. Trigun, cowboy bebop, eatman98 make for a good afternoon marathon. Tenchi's Ryoko is stil my all time favorite anime babe though:P (as seen on my web page)
And I would be happy to use them for micro - per machine firewalls. Sorta like a Netscreen 5 but much cheaper. I tried using the cheapo linksys firewall switch but found it not configurable enough to handle a subnet instead of a single ip. I have an regular machine now to do the trick but that is a rather bulky solution.
Just wait till you try to add another arrowpoint fro redundency. Run one nic out to each arrowpoint (plus one or more to your interenal net). Now get reading for the configuration headache of getting those two to work together doing failover and redundency. Fornatly once you do get it right those things will do failover and rules balencing to other units in othe datacenters. Best thing to do is get one of the arrowpoint engineers down and chain them to the rack until they get it right. We have also had troubles with loaner arrowpoints. A single Arrowpoint replaces about 6 cisco boxes.. No wonder Cisco bought them:)
Maybe now SGI will bother to make their 1600sw flat panel screen useable with the industry standard DDI instead of the propriatary port that requres bundling with the old #9 card.
The Bleem software for windows is not even a valid win32 application - hence you can't run it on a system with decent power. Just says lousy programming to me.
I just tried to install 7.0 and now after futzing about for half an hour I see there is a new version available. 7.0 failed for me cause it couldn't find a partition... Well it never even asked me how to partition the drives. Most likely having both IDE and SCSI drives in the system confused it. This has seemed to confuse other releases. Hopefully in this version they got their install scripts working properly.
Will the linux versions come out at the same time or a year later when the game has allready been played out and shelved by me? Hence I will not buy a seperate copy of a game later on that will play slower just because it is in Linux. A linux version for a dedicated server I can stick on the box in the datacenter possibly. Beos/intel ports would be nice aswell.
I am considering using it to pay my Pac Bell bill every month seeing as how pac bell hasn't gotten an automatic online system of their own yet.(least not htat I have noticed) Pac Bell does have an automated phone service but you have to call them to get the number. And they charge you for this! lame! completly electronic system should be FREE
Was going to try Wellsfargo's auotmatic payment system but I never heard from them after I filled out their online form on two seperate occasions.
So it looks like the paytrust services are definatly usefull for these backwards companies.
hmm posibly with this technology we can acutally have a real magnetic field effect when storing the data from a game of life.
What heppens when the dots get realy close to each other? Do they spawn new magnegtic dots or die off after a few generations? Might make for an amusing project. Whatcha see on the screen....
If you havn't seen Darkstone, I would reccammend giving it a try. Some bacis idea and the controlls were made simular for easy adaptation. There is some new unsupported feature now to change the skins on your characters... ought to be interesting. Nice little music video in there too. http://www.godgames.com/games/darkstone/
I guess if banks can pop up inside grocery stores than Microsoft can pop up inside of Radio shack. No big deal I guess. Anyone know if MS owns or has interest in Radio Shack?
I allready got rid of the MX300 I purchases quite awhile ago due to lousy drivers even for win98, let alone lack of support for any other os. I have a yahmaha XG pci thing in the machine I use for win98 games and while it works okay I have volume problems and the digital out seems not to work either. not to mention their drivers seem to be stuck back in DirectX5 days.
A generic soundblaster 64 still seems to be the most compatible thing around that works out of the box.
Yes folks, it true! Reading email is just the sport for nosy company system admin (Bastard Opertor from Hell), You too can take please in reading random email from people all over the world. Just sign up for a free email service and watch for exploits.
BTW anyone have a webpage with archived bastard operator from hell episodes-storys?

I actually thought Photon was sort of amusing.
Nothing serious in the series so far- all silly comedy.

From the Qubit FAQ:
Q: Can I use my existing Internet ISP?
A: Yes. You don't have to switch. The cost of a Qubit WebTablet may be higher without a service connection
Three top most htings I would like to see in Star Office:
1: ability to drag a link out of one window and into another.
2: when opening new windows, have them NOT automaticaly go full screen.
3: a Beos port.
I don't belive I have ever had my PacBell installed Alcatel hang on me.
Also why wait a minute? 5 seconds should be long enough?

64 megs dosen't seem to be enough these days. 128 seems to be the minimum to be usefull. Abeit with a smaller overhead it could work out.
Better hope there are no buffer overflow problems so to speak.

We need a website up to the computer where we can
control his emotions and body movements..
So how often a min do you think he would up slapping himself and enjoying it?
okay this could get gross.
