    Depends if OnLive only focus on the US market or whether they sell to Europeans and South Koreans who have significantly better broadband options available.

    After 3 years of Windows use there's no such thing as 'just' a reformat given that you have to reinstall all the drivers and software too. It can take the best part of a day for 'just' a reformat.

    Are Windows skills not sought after? When every office job I see requires proficiency in Windows and Office. Proficiency in Unix is handy in some sections of the IT world but it's not so much in the real world. In any case the designers I work with know how to use Photoshop et al on their Macs and would be petrified of something like vim.

    iPhone 4's two most touted features are multi-tasking and video calling - both of which have been available for years on other phones. The previous iteration offered video recording and cut and paste - which again had been available on other phones for years. The previous one offered 3G connectivity and MMS - again previously available on other phones for a long time. You see my point. Apple are great designers and marketers but innovation - yeh right whatever.

    The loss of income from BT, BP, British Gas and the electricity companies is the reason why we pay so much more in tax than we used to. The overall tax burden went up under Thatcher and Major, as did inflation, unemployment and interest rates. New Labour, her acolytes, were just continuing the programme with a few sops to keep the unions on board.

    Why do you type sth when you don't abbreviate anything else? Is that creativity in action? Kids still play with Lego. It's still enormously popular. I have 4 nephews and a niece. The boys all have and love Lego.

    My nephews and niece watch some TV and then spend the rest of the time playing their own made up games based on the TV shows. I'm not sure whether that's a lack of creativity or not. I used to pretend to be Batman or Spiderman when I was a kid, now they pretend to be Ben 10 or whatever.

    Unlike Apple users we N900 users can get our software from a number of places. Just because the Ovi Store isn't doing well doesn't mean there aren't plenty of other places to get good apps.

    It is truly an awesome piece of kit (I love mine) but it doesn't have a shiny fruit on it or the developer mindshare that that shiny fruit attracts.

    How is it inane? There is an awful lot of software that an awful lot of companies depend on that only runs on Windows. That's a fact. You're the one with the delusion that Linux or Mac OS X are drop-in replacements.

    I wrote a long post debunking your argument but when I read it back I decided to say that you are a fucking moron instead. Mission critical Win32-only software is everywhere. Neither Linux nor Mac OS X can run it. Therefore they are not replacements for Windows.

    This is a European law so it doesn't in fact violate any of our legal rights. The right to privacy in Europe is " subject to certain restrictions that are in accordance with law and necessary in a democratic society" which the courts are then free to interpret how they wish. The right to free expression is also subject to that limitation.

    Of course greed and stupidity in the banking sector had nothing to do with it. I don't give a fuck whether the US government set this up or not, the fact of the matter is that the global system pretended that high risk loans were the same as low risk ones. No government forced them into that incredibly stupid move.
