There are many ways to describe "protecting your interests". Backwards isn't one of them. To these interests, the USA does not exist, except as a location to register their corporation, and proof of residence when collecting their welfare check..er, I mean subsidy, no wait, I mean bailout cash, stimulus freebie? They are like Liberian ships. So it is of no concern to them if it is "number one" in anything, except for low to no taxes, or the best strip joints.
The great flood must have been somewhere else. There weren't that many Jews living on Long Island back then. But poor New Jersey.. Even mother nature was dumping its garbage there.
It's a great idea. But it does nothing to help the gatekeeper control what content gets to be widely viewed. And it's probably too difficult for the authorities to track the cash flow. There's a "terrorist" angle in there somewhere. Actually I wish that they do charge for videos to help draw users to other sites, ones that don't restrict from where a video can be viewed. That's what's really intolerable. Hulu must be stopped. We need more "scud" sites that can quickly be dismantled and setup to keep the content cartels at bay.
Nor are they trying to really compete with anyone. There's been a lot of public backlash against American internet service, if you can call it that. And that's what they're trying to mitigate, along with a possible demand for regulation. The caps are there. It's just that nobody but Cablevision knows what they are.
Hulu does not stream content outside the United States...
Well Boxee should use something that does. I'm here getting binspammed about Hulu and it does me no good at all. If Slashdot is going to continue to advertise these services, they should at least do one that isn't playing all these stupid games. I'm tired of spending half my day busting through firewalls just to watch some TV.
No, doing it legal is very bridled. Unbridled is when you go outside the country to get it cheaper and smuggle it back in with you, then sell some to your "friends".

Freedom of speech?? We have copyright to deal with that meddlesome inconvenience.
Even better, two violations with one law. Win-win!

There's a hole in the bucket, dear Liza, dear Liza..
The company has "innovations" in it's name, so their product probably won't work.
Yep, shoulda gone with Acme..
I don't think so. Just tell the user to double click the setup.exe icon if it doesn't run automatically. Gotta turn off autorun in the user's brain.
...they are utilizing probably a tenth of their hacking capacity...
That is false; it's a myth.
Nothing prepares you for war like lots of practice.

...whatever that name is, that you're not supposed to say...
I think it's "Beetlejuice"
And the general populace seems happy to let it happen.
Not merely letting it happen. The general populace has been scared into demanding it.

and that's how people will treat it. It tears down any pretext of respect.
Unbridled capitalism at its finest.

So say 3 million people die from it...
Yeah, think of the money saved on blood pressure medicine...
What a wellspring of Trek trivia! For instance, in Spock's Brain, Spock gets less than 4 and a half minutes of screen time. Fascinating...
Shatner's a camera hog...
A new oxymoron...Goes similar to: "one for you, nineteen to me..."
But if the color clashes, you got a problem with the fashion police.
On the long run it makes us more resistant to disease. That used to be a good thing.
Poor understanding of IT jargon by a politician's office...what a shock...
I'm a doctor, dammit!
It's a classic case of wikidickery.
Wikidickerydoc.
The lawyers ran up the clock

They billed by the hour
In Russia you would be up-cocked.
Demonstrably false...
You have yet to show your work... And you seem to be in denial of man's natural, animal behavior.
It's not about competition. It's about who's the last one still standing on top of the rubble. It's a demolition derby, not a yard sale
