suck my dick you stupid fuck, i see at least one bioshock article per week and it's obnoxious as hell, i don't come to slashdot to read the editors' personal opinion on what they think is a "great" game (protip: its shit) and no the nerd/gamer demographic is not identical. you know why a lot of nerds started up companies and are really successful? it's because they didn't sit around playing video games on their computer all day, like you do you childish idiot. grow up, get a job, suck a dick, i don't care. just fuck off.

Yeah, we get it, the editors liked Bioshock. Not every did, and this sort of news has nothing to do with Slashdot. You want to talk about game engine modifications? Graphic design? Maybe even some made-up art school crap about the impact of video games on culture? Fine. Just don't regurgitate what adds up to a Kotaku article. Ahh, and I mouse over the link and it's RockPaperShotgun. Amazing. I'm sure that people who give a crap wouldn't have been able to find this news without Slashdot. Thank you for posting this.

Mass Media is God in America. If you even attempt to classify the big networks as "Main Stream Media," thus implying that alternative information or divergent opinion is available, most people will either be puzzled at best or outright distrustful and angry, calling you a fringe lunatic or conspiracy theorist. At least in China nobody has any illusions, they call it what it is: State-run Media.

I have never heard of this turd burglar before but I just went and checked out his blog thanks to this article. Let's take a look:

    1. Something about bridges and nerds? Looks like someone is jacking off. Later in the article, "Someone, sometime soon is going to start describing the climb out of this impressive hole we've dug for ourselves, and they're going to call it 'America 2.0'. Clever, yes." Yes, you're so clever. Great job. Maybe he was being sarcastic here but any way you slice it that sentence was unnecessary, coming from the guy who talks about "writing less." Also it's all well and good to fellate Obama for telling Americans to work hard, but when he turns around and stabs the whole country in the back with more of the same failed policies that benefit only the rich and penalize the hard-working folks you're talking about, I really don't think any quote from him should be taken seriously.

2 & 3. Two separate and extremely pompous articles about Twitter, labled "The Art of the Tweet" and "A Twitter Decision." What? Hey "Rands" (great nick btw, very generic and unassuming, just like you) guess what: it's Twitter. Even if you're 100% right about what you're saying, I guarantee 100% of everyone doesn't give a shit about any of that. Rands says, "For me, a tweet is still a note I tie to a balloon, which I let go and think, "Who is going to read that one?" Sometimes I look and see where it ended up, sometimes I don't." Wow you mean you tweet so you other people can read it? Thanks for the poetry Shakespeare, but you're still full of shit.

This is where the front page ends, but I check out some other articles. I like this one ( http://www.randsinrepose.com/archives/2003/07/10/nadd.html ) where he talks about "NADD." Here's a description: "You enjoy the content fire hose. Give me tabbed browsing, tabbed instant messaging, music all the time, and TIVO TIVO TIVO. Welcome to NADD." I guess he just means being... uhmm... I don't know, alive? Wow people sure are different aren't they? *points out a bunch of obvious shit* Hey look at me I'm a friggin genius over here. Honestly I don't get this article at all. So you look at shit constantly and can't stand to be without. Great. Who cares? What's your point? "Third, and lastly, you're not going to have much patience with those who have not chosen a NADD-like life." Wow that's funny because I'm almost exactly like the NADD person you described except I don't have this problem because I'm not a self-absorbed asswipe. Grow up you piece of shit.

Molyneux is a joke. He's never made a good game and always goes on about all this "experimentation" and "innovation" which is simply hype and hyperbole for the same boring, generic crap that every other dull, unimaginative dev churns out year after year. Suck it Molyneux, nobody wants your pathetic rambling.

I think the reason most people treat 'bureaucrat' as a swear word is because most of them are NOT hard working and creative and just push papers around while lining their pockets with other people's money. Or maybe they ARE hard working and creative but all too often work towards their own ends instead of what's best for their organization.

I agree with your post, but only insofar as labeling all bureaucrats as I just have is a simplification and generalization. However, just because its a generalization does not mean it isn't generally true. Power imbues responsibilities. Some respect those responsibilities, but most ignore them, flout them, or worse.

Ok well why you think Boing Boing being on the front page of /. means that they're not on the front page of slashdot is beyond me. The article starts out, "BoingBoing Gadgets" then links to BoingBoing. How is that not being on the front page of slashdot? iLounge and CNET are equally culpable since they're nothing but crap rags that do this stuff all the time. The only ones who got it right the first time and checked their sources were MacWorld. "Hysterical Apple Fanboi" indeed. More like Hysterical Cory Doctorow fanboy, i.e.: you. Then you agree to Boing Boing being an unreliable site after defending to the death in all the comments here just so you look like you're rolling along instead of fantasizing about licking Cory's naked body. You make me sick.

But your non-sarcastic, reasoned approach is a little better I suppose. I agree that Boing Boing shouldn't be on the front page of /. Why is Cory Doctorow considered an "expert" again? He's proved himself time and time again to be nothing more than a blowhard and a fool. Put Boing Boing articles where you put the rest of the trash.
