The Fray is one the biggest draws of Slate.
It has more posts than other online site on the web that I know of.
I can't imagine anyone spending more time on Washington Post than on the 'The Fray'.
The limit is enfored if a previous connection attempt to a host has failed. There is no limit if connection if the connection attempt was sucessful.
Licences have no effect. There is no limit on the number of connections. You will probably reach the memory limit of your system before you reach the maximum number of connections that XP can support.
I have used both Virtual PC & VMWare. Installing Operating Systems is faster on Virtual PC than in Vmware.
Surprisingly Windows XP Professional was the slowest install I had in VPC. I have successfully installed FreeBSD, Mandrake 10.0 (KDE), Red Hat, Fedora on Virtual PC & VMWare with full networking support.
All my old LucasArts games (the primary use of emulation for me) work with Virtual PC. I had terrible luck with VmWare w.r.t. running games.
I still have a lot of excellent games from the DOS yore. For DOS games Virtual PC has been a big boon. No more worrying about incompatibility with present day OSes.
Strategy games & adventure games are the only games I ever play.
My current favorite is Rise of the Nations.
Before that Stronghold used to take a big chunk of my time.
What the hell are they taking about? My XPMCE boots faster than any OS I have ever seen. I rarely have to reboot. But when I do, it takes less than 30 seconds to boot my machine.
Heh!
Doubt it thought.
Slate's readership is much larger than Slashdot's.

I am regular visitor to Cagle.slate.msn.com
I wonder what is going to happen to this political cartoon site.
There is no mention of Cagle in the news media.

Yeah. I got it and I thought the quality was awesome.
I am sure there is something more to this issue than the article is trying to present.
I was confused too. Until I broke it down.
0.10.1 = Version 0, 10=October, 1=day of release.
Seems like a dup of a story posted in Dec 2003

Pray tell us who is this closest competitor who has less bugs than found in Windows.
Ping & tracert use the ICMP interface in icmp.dll
You don't need to sign applications to use this dll.
Goto Control Panel->Admin Tools->Service and set the security service to manual.

A message stated that "winserv" was missing.
u gin.html seems to confirm my suspisions.
winserv is not application which would be needed at boot time.
It looks like a spyware to me.

Obiviuosly SP2 RC2 didn't hose the machine. It was a spyware
Install SP2 RC2 on Computer 1
"Oh! No. Blue Screen."
"Lets try it on a second machine shall we?"
"Oh! No. Blue Screen."
"May be third time Lucky."
The Rest is history...
Here is it on Avertec site:
C3500 Covertible Notebook
Note this is not a mirror.
Awesome idea w.r.t. netmeeting!
I can't wait to try it when I get home.
I am looking for a computer-to-computer Voice over IP solution other than Microsoft's Netmeeting.
Any recommendations?
I never heard of anyone paying for the SDK either.

Windows 2003 already has Network Monitor Tools. You can find it in the Add Remove Programs.
For previous versions you can use the version that comes with SMS.
WinXP SP2 RC1 already has popup blocking.
Integrating MSN toolbar with IE is highly unlikely.
The implementation you are taking about - Rotor - is also ported to support Mac & Linux

Yeah. Funny they would attempt to sell a media center competitor whose only saving grace is faster boot time!
