My volunteer department has quite a few IT/geek types in it. Of course, we live near AOL and MCI headquarters, so there's plenty of IT work in the area. You wouldn't think firefighting and geeks would go together, but I guess that's just a stereotype.
Glad to meet another brother FF here. I'd suspect there are a few more around.
It is possible to remove the roof on an upside down car. I've only done it it training, though. The basic idea is you support the rest of the car somehow then slide the roof out after it's cut free. Not always useful, but possible.
We have traffic signal control devices at major intersections in our first due area that are controlled by the siren on emergency vehicles. It's got directional sensors that are smart enough to tell which direction you're approaching from to clear traffic in the proper direction. Don't know any technical details, sorry.
Video quality is OK, but not spectacular. No attempt was made to clean it up, one assumes in an effort to keep thet price down. Still very watchable. Audio is fine, but in the
original mono. Check out the forums on http://www.robotech.com for more. Membership required to read.
I experienced a similar problem with Super Mario 64. Eventually I discovered that it was because of the camera angles. The camera following Mario didn't react as I expected it to, so I'd get dizzy. After my brain learned what to expect, the symptoms went away.
My tab in Firefox says:
Slashdot: Where Computers Go To Die.
Struck me as funny anyway.

I was too lazy to preview, so now I've got to post to correct my own post:

Stand by for further corrections.

If the US were really out to steal oil it would be much easier to go to Canada.

Not always true. OJ was never able to get the killer caught.

perhaps something like: foobar --help
Some results may still be too complex though.

I've recently found my Agenda to be very usable after all the work that's gone on. You can get a pretty good deal with the developer model as well. See http://www.agendacomputing.com/ for the mostly finished site. See http://developer.agendacomputing.com/ for the developer deal, and see http://www.csee.umbc.edu/~acedil1/agenda/ for more information about the community supporting it.
