It doesn't matter what your stats say or whether they are legit or made up.
The Supremes will likely rule that the Second Amendment means what it says and gun "bans" will go the way of the Dodo bird.
Reasonable regulation, such as that applied to speech, will be available though.
And regarding the knife...it is widely recognized that a knife can be deadly if the perp is less than 20 or so feet from you (assuming your weapon is holstered, maybe even not).
Listen, I don't care if you live in a grass hut and eat grubs or the backwood of Arkansas and sell cedar furniture to heat your log cabin. That's not my problem and it's not my fault.
My biking to work is not going to help you out one bit.
Sorry if I care about improving my existence by working to have things like A/C, cars, TV, etc. I suppose you envy my refrigerator and TV? Is too convenient for me to be able to sit in my air conditioned room and respond to your bullshit?
If most people in the world put up with a lot more difficult daily lives, then they should get off their ass and do something about it instead of bitching about me.
I have news for ya pal, the entire world is about selfishness. Putting food on your plate and clothes on your back could be called selfish. Don't you know some people only wear loin cloths?
So, yes, I don't like paying $4 for a gallon of gas, especially when there is no real reason for it other than idiots who work to prevent increasing the supply.
And BTW, the Bakken formation actually turns out to potentially have 400 BILLION barrels of oil. That makes the middle east look like a corner Exxon station.
I live in Texas and 12 miles from work. At 6am, it's 80 degrees and 90% humidity. No thanks.
I can't buy an electric car for less than $30k-$40k
My current car is paid for and gets 25mpg.
We import over 2/3 of our oil now. Doesn't take a rocket sciewntist to see that is a bad thing from ecomomic and national security point of view.
Umm...heard of Supply and Demand? More Supply, cost drops. They've had that one figured out for quite a while.
And you can't "open up supplies very quickly" Infrastructure takes a while, drilling, piplelines, etc.
At least they are going to build another refinery here in the U.S. At least after they fight off all the enviro-whackos who have promised to use every means at their disposal to stop it.
We cannot do transport without oil for the foreseeable future. Maybe if you are rich you could buy the Telsa. If you think otherwise, you are deluding yourself.
And if you buy into the arguments against drilling, one of which is that it will take years to bring wells on line, then we better get started now, because wars and national emergencies don't happen according to schedules.

Believing the government is controlled by the Oil Companies who engineered 9/11 to give them a reason to listen in on your phone sex calls, attack Iran, which will make oil prices rise even more and totally ruin the U.S economy so it then makes sense to declare martial law and then, ummm, what would they do then?...
If I had a dollar for everyone one of you folks who claim they are going to move out of the U.S, but then never do, I would need a job where I could read Slashdot all day.
Really, all these manufacturers are missing the point. The people who need electric cars are the people that as a group, drive more than other groups.
That is definitely not the people can afford the Telsa.
So if they think they are being all kinds of green and helping the environment, they are seriously self-deluded. It's a play thing for rich folks (not that I don't want one or don't plan to be rich)
But as far as having an impact on the environment and reducing gas consumption for the nation, it's nothing but a curiosity.
The evolution of various cartridges was driven by the fact that humans who are bent on hurting you *do* stick around while being shot.
Increasing "stopping power" is a continuous improvement effort on the part of the ammunition manufacturers.

So the rule is shoot early, shoot often!
The government does not drill oil wells. The oil companies do.
No one is asking the government to subsidize anything, just get the hell out of the way.
And these prices were not inevitable. They are the result of an artificial restriction on supply.
And if you think driving to work is lazy, well then you just go ahead and hoof it. Just stay out of the road.
Try $55 for filling up a used, 25 mpg car, thank you very much.
And not everyone likes living in crowed cities, being crammed onto trains, etc. etc.

Then I guess you need to get used to paying $5 a gallon or more.
200 billion barrels in the Bakken Formation in North Dakota.
ANWR
Both coasts and the Gulf.
We have the oil. JUst too many stupid laws that prohibit drilling for it.
I would take anything said or written by Dennis Kucinich with a ton of salt.
He is the original tin hat congressman. He puts Alex Jones to shame.
And Richard Armitage outed V.P.
My theory is that it will get warmer, then cooler, then warmer, etc.
My Theory is irrefutable.

Priceless
It's actually a bunch of San Francisco developers that moved their facilities during the dot.bust.
You can clearly see that one is wearing Nikes and the other is wearing Birkenstocks.
Not all the world's ice shelves are melting
Doesn't a board member have a fiduciary duty to the company?
Isn't leaking internal documents or discussing internal matters with journalists a violation of the fiduciary duty?
Isn't the company obligated to uncover the leaker who is presumably damaging the company?

The odds were 100% for the folks trapped in the towers.
And since when does taking affirmative action = being afraid?
Are you suggesting just sit back and wait for it?
Easy...Terrorists want to kill YOU, or your mother, father, brother, sister, anyone really.
...can it get a nerd a date?
...to drive a car from the parking lot onto the runway of any airport other than a very small general aviation airport?
99.9999% of all airport runway/tarmacs are surrounded by tall fences and locked gates.
Right... and now those same Democrats are Republicans.
When did Robert Byrd switch to the Republican party?
No, you'd call him Ted Kennedy on vacation.
Ba dum da!
...a $100k car, what do I car about gas mileage?

You have to wonder. If someone can afford to make payments on a $30k-$50k car, then you damn well can afford $4.00 per gallon gas at 30 mpg.
I can buy a used Honda Civic for $8k that gets 40mpg.
When they make a car where the savings in gas offsets my new car payment, then I'll be interested.
Never mind...that was about the Raptor.
