Regardless, seems to me that pilots calculating the take off weight is anachronistic. Manufacturers can easily incorporate weight sensing devices into the gear. Or, weight sensors could be incorporated into a Wheel Chock device. There is no reason for guesstimates.
The NRA opposes the very concept of needing a license to license to own a weapon. Which makes sense, because you don't need a license to post on Slashdot or publish a news paper.
One of the methods of mining them are to bring them back to earth orbit for processing. If a bunch of PhDs can crash a satellite into Mars, company engineers can crash an asteroid into the earth.
If you purchased the vehicle in good faith and the state says you can't use it anymore, is that an illegal taking, requiring compensation? What if a fridge or AC manufacturer did something similar? Can the State force you to purchase a new fridge or new AC for your home? What if the manufacturer is no longer in business or is bankrupted so you can't get compensated from them?
Is it tough shit for you? Is that how you treat people who probably paid, on average, to get cleaner burning car? Does CA get to say "Fuck you, go spend another $60?"

Hell, right out of college I worked for an Aerospace company made up of several divisions. Just as I got there, they decided to combine all the divisional databases into one. Then a year later, they wanted to split them back up. Two years after that, combine them again. Luckily, we only commented out code so the second time was easy. But what drove it each time was a new moron executive.
First, any executive that utters the word "Cloud" is a moron. A CTO, CIO, etc who utters the word "cloud" is a fucking moron. "Cloud" is a marketing word for other people's servers.
Second moving Enterprise applications off of the company's servers is stupid and reckless. Security, accessibility, up time, backups, integrity, etc. are in the control of a company that makes its living by cutting corners and economizing. And if any of them are defense related, probably illegal.
Third, this moron "executive" is probably just trying to reduce head count and infrastructure costs, looking toward the next fucking quarterly results and doesn't intend on being around a year or two from now when it all comes crashing down.
