I'm thinking the display could roll up inside of an ink pen like a spring loaded window roller shade. Some enterprising genius could also implement sensors to reproduce script written on paper by the pen to the screen. I'm dreaming of a lot of possibilities.
The Feds kidnapped a "suspected" Russian hacker (Roman Valerevich Seleznev) in the Maldives the other day and flew him to Guam. I wouldn't feel too safe.
I have not been able to install FreeDOS in VMWare Player. Google has hits for instruction with regular VMWare. So far, I haven't found a ready made appliance.
I remember free beta releases of Windows 95 and the "Rock Star" roll out parties at computer stores like CompUSA. It was a huge geek-fest. Thirty two bit, baby!
I installed Windows Server 2003 to VMWare Player just yesterday. The activation server won't work anymore, so I had to make the dreaded call. The Pakistani sounding guy named "Phillip" was helpful but it would have been easier with Internet activation. He was very curious as to WHY I wanted to install Windows Server 2003.
Windows Update wouldn't work until I downloaded SP2 and installed it. Then I was able to "enjoy" several hours of downloading and installing updates via Windows Update
What I wonder about is, when I accepted an update and rebooted there were several patches to the updates. Why doesn't MS build the patches into the update?
I saw a demo at the Dallas Infomart back in the day. Like you said, it was able to display several videos without any choppiness. No other OS I had seen could come close. I suspect that Haiku can't come close either.
I tried "Google2SRT.java" on this and had the transcript in.srt format in about 3 seconds. I tried some of the online convertors but didn't find one that worked on this video.
Maybe they just hate Anonymous Cowards?

I have a version of Streets and Trips from 2006. It won't install on Win 7 64 bit. The 2011 version works.

The NSA already snagged all the available server storage?
It seems attention spans get shorter all of the time.
Not exactly Linux, but Microsoft has Xenix in the late 1970s.
This might be the year of ReactOS on the desktop.

They are attracted to flashing lights and will home in on this like a June bug to a porch light. Having said that, it looked very well done.
Most hated man in America buys team from the second most hated man.
We can just imagine them into existence. And then some unicorns.
What happened to all of the really good fart apps?
Just to have Linus publicly cuss me out? No thanks!

I wonder how many on /. have ever used an outhouse or pulled water from a well in a bucket. Any stories (said the thread-jacker)?
Damned government hand is in my pocket - again!
Dude looks like a lady!
