Stereotyping hurts us all equally. You my friend are the perfect example of what kind of ignorance it brings. Everyone would consider me a computer geek, or guru depending on whom you query, but I don't fit the stereotype whatsoever. I have a great girlfriend, an active social life, and I don't live and breathe computers. As a matter of fact, I know virtually no computer geeks who might fit that stereotype very well, and I live in the dorm hall of my uni that is known for its vast majority of computer geeks.

First you knock stereotypes, and then you apply another. Hypocrit.

Furthermore, our database was only at 7.5% CPU utilization. So, when the system was serving roughly 11 requests per second, the CPU was nearly 75% idle.

According to my calculations it would be closer to 72.5% idle. Of course for you stat heads you always gotta allow for 3% give or take, so it works out for you, but come on, if you're going to post some stats, why not be as accurate as possible?

Don't tell me its the "open-source" bs... come on... great its free, but it's also crap. Unless of course you run servers. But that's a whole nother can of worms. I can do anything I want on windows. I really can. Needless to say I have to download whatever programs will allow me to do so, but there's always a crack/patch to apply to them. It's just as easy as compiling some stupid source code that probably won't work the first 3 times anyways. If you ask me, Linux doesn't have shit on any other operating systems until it can do everything that the others can do and do it better or do MORE.
