Bipartisan support is what happens when both parties feel that the particular bill being voted on should pass because it would be politically advantageous to themselves and financially advantageous to the corporations that fund their campaigns.
This is very insightful. An important part of getting public support for a war is convincing people that the "enemy" is very different from them, somehow less than human, and maybe even evil. When most citizens see that the people being killed really are people too with the same hopes, dreams, and ambitions as them with all the same things to lose, they don't see it as war anymore, they see it as murder.
It was too dark to play in a well lit area, but the perfect game for playing with the lights out and surround sound. Too niche of an audience to experience the game that way I suppose.
Like, in a darkened, maybe unfinished, parents basement with eerie acoustic properties? I'd say they have they're audience nailed.
How? Lots of hand-waving, misdirection, and questionable assumptions. The whole research industry is in total denial about it, because there aren't any good alternatives yet.
From a business perspective, this is the golden egg:
1) If you use less than your total minutes, you've overpaid = more money for the company
2) If you go over your minutes you pay an exorbitant overage charge = more money for the company
Of course, it shanks the customer.
As a Mormon, I'm also appalled. Business and money seem to have gotten the best of these guys. "It's ok to lie", they must be thinking, "it's just business."
But it doesn't matter, of course, since the boss will ask "Are you sure?" And we all know that that means "try to come up with an estimate that fits my predetermined schedule."
My other favorite manager question is, "How easy would it be to do such and such?".
My reply, "If it's not easy does that mean I don't have to do it?"
Someone please write the following on a piece of paper, attach said paper to a brick, and then hurl that brick through Joe's living room window:
China has an Internet kill switch, not to protect it's citizens, but to protect itself from it citizens.
Bipartisan support? What's that?

Yeah, now instead of being a glorified RSS feed for reddit, they're an actual RSS feed for reddit. Great change!
Thanks for the insights. I've never seen anyone so committed to using the "!" in the Yahoo name and I gotta say, it's really, really irritating.

Drupal makes real programmers cry.
At least one of HP board members, Marc L. Andreessen, also serves on another board. Ebay Inc. in his case.
It would be interesting to make a graph of all the interconnected board members of US corporations. Wouldn't that be a sight.
One of the cartoons on this site may apply to this story in a humorous and eerily prescient manner.

The 1950's called. They want they're attitudes back.
A quick back-of-the-napkin calculation reveals that that is an acceptable level of death.

That's almost as user friendly as Linux right there.

I just ask my manager how long he's already told the client it's going to take.
