    Unless you have somthing "special" in mind, don't waste your money (a big bank account is much better than a big monitor). Buy somthing you can live with for three years, older than that you can get for almost nothing on Ebay/Craigslist. For most people $500.00 is plenty for a decent (New) PC.

    OK, so you read Slashdot and you think you need a water cooled i7 with 16G of RAM and two Nvidia cards (More power than an NSA Cray), but you game on a console? So is this just for some testosterone laden bragging rights? It makes no sense for anybody to pay more than $500.00 for a PC, I do some pretty interesting things with an Asus b202 and an Asus Celeron M powered netbook.

    When you puff up your chest and ball up your Cheeto stained fingers into fists and thump your tiny hairless chest and proclaim that you need this power for **, remember millions of people get by with way less just fine.

    And, YES, I'm agreeing with you!

    Yeah, I really loved that blank blue screen, the lack of menus, the fact that you had to "just know" how to use the fucking thing, vi was free and just as unfriendly, hows about ed? Huh? I used Wordstar, it had menus, you didn't need to study a manual to use it, I don't know why it didn't catch on.

    Yeah, My maternal grandfathers family came from a polish speaking enclave in what is now Belarus, incredibly isolated swampy area, impenetrable forests. This isolation seemed to result in some psychological issues, they were all mad as hatters, right down to my mom. My maternal grandmothers family came from an even more remote area near lake Baikal in Siberia but did not suffer from these kind of issues probably due to my great-great grandmother being Mongolian, a little outside DNA making all the difference!

    And keep it out when not in use (it also makes the batteries last longer) I also keep my phone in a small waterproof case (Otterbox) with a conductive inner coating (that I added).

    Yes the republicrats get all the votes, they've gerrymandered and manipulated the system to the point that they can have no competition, they even have viable third party candidates arrested to keep them out of the presidential debates! And as to O-bomb-em-all, how is he listening to anybody but the multibillion dollar defense industry that profits from the death and dismemberment of our young men and women? He got elected on a promise to end the war an here we are with not only the same two wars but yet another middle-eastern war THREE WARS! The American people with a very few exceptions OPPOSE THE WAR! and O-bomb-em-all AIN'T LISTENING!

    And then there was the NINE TRILLION DOLLAR bailout (look it up) of all the crooks on Wall St. And cuts to education, the American people want that? There is really only one political party in the USofA, it's the MONEY PARTY!

    Your vote may count in national elections, BUT I DOUBT IT!

    Only a complete idiot would say that the SD/SDHC/SDXC is obsolete, the fact that the development of the SDXC card at 1tb is just about to be released is proof that it is going to be the default removable storage medium of the first quarter of the 21st century.

I think the Obama debacle has proven that politicians pay little to no attention to what the people that voted them into office want or care about, it's all about which big business is willing to kick in the most money!     The Romans never re-wrote their history from scratch as the Chinese did over and over again. Remember there was a real difference in the way records were kept.
    The Roman's used parchment, papyrus and vellum for scrolls and codices, whereas the Chinese (at the time of Qin) used bundles of bamboo strips (there was much less to re-write).
