Actually if that "dangerous ionizing radiation responsible for thousands of deaths" did not exist, billions of deaths (if not trillions, including animals) would be instantly a problem... we need the sun rays for many things ranging from heating to crop growing
Threaten the US government, which has yet to take a stand on your monopolistic behavior... that should help them have a favorable stance for you.
Sounds to me like Microsoft is already planning to move these jobs to countries that have cheaper labor... as a matter of fact, a lot of jobs are already in other countries. He's just using the new tax as an excuse to do so... it's not my fault, they made me do it. As Warren Buffet said, "behind every business decision there is the good reason, the one that convinces people... and the real reason"... the hidden agenda
I heard something about 640k being more than enough not much longer than that... of course, that was back in the days when we had manic miner on the zx spectrum...:) loved that game
Well in theory you can ski anywhere on the mountain... the trouble may be getting up.. getting down shouldnt be a problem... getting down in one piece may be a different issue:)
assuming 20$ per one hundred DVD, for 35 000 DVD of/dev/random, you'd have to spend a little less than $10 000 for empty media... let alone the time spent for reproduction and getting your hands on a reproduction machine.
That's a lot of time, efforts & money:)... I think I'll pass on this one.
In other news from the overpriced useless ressearch dept... the research has found an unexpected application... generating fart sounds from facial expressions... thus giving speech to farts. a student called in for volunteer testing of the system said, "amazing! it actually sounds like me... I was always embarassed because my farts didnt make any sound... now I know wether it is a pzzzt or a plrrrrt or a puffff.... Thank you"
Privacy right groups caution against wide use of the system, "We got to preserve the right to privacy while farting... imagine if these devices were everywhere? our privacy would be gone like the wind"
I bet they didnt stay long because as soon as they got down, their first observation was, "uh oh, there's something FISHY about the ocean floor let's go back up"
LOL... unless the fish start complaining that their location is classified information so that sharks dont use google ocean floor to find their hideout:)
Actually, imho... with the fans that are probably on the video card, with increased needs for cooling with increased processor power, I would be more likely to go for a helicopter analogy:)... but that's my opinion
In other news... IBM Creates a reflection group to adopt SmokeSignalXML 2.0 standard and geek adapts system to read slashdot via a new nifty system called FireRSS. A Native American signal artisans reflect about his doubts of the new system, "It's like the old smoke system... except you have to use an inkjet printer to encode the message... you also need a power supply to print the stuff... you might as well use a flash light"
no open office's database program is not where near (although a step in the right direction) there and mysql is overkill (not to mention not a form / report engine)... import from access is approximative (no forms, no queries, no reports)... let alone writing in the format. You'll say why... because it makes it impossible to interact with legacy databases... so impossible to transition... and a lot of people will say... well if it ain't broke, dont fix it.
Of course you can use OLEDB with mysql as a datasource within access to migrate... but it's a one way conversion... you can't export to access (well easily at least)
I agree also that dia is a good start... but needs lots of work, particularely in usability
Wishful thinking is sweet. I am gonna write a proposal so that virii like aids or the swine flu or aids stop damaging the body and clean up after them... it would be beneficial to the virii too as their host would live longer and they would be in symbiotic harmony. they would stand to gain more if they applied my proposal. I believe it may have more chances of being adopted by the authors... and we dont need to talk about the riaa as they promised they wouldnt sue anyone (some more wishful thinking) and are very busy showing people how to videotape from a flat screen these days.

Internet rule #28854 corollary: that includes complaining about a complaint :p
> We should definitely show them that we are rational, well behaved lifeforms, with broad interests and predictable interaction
You think we should lie to them, right off the bat?
they seem to be interested in phones... "ET Phone home"
it could be argued that there is a song about sex, "she bings" ... "she bings, she bings... I like the way she movze"... or something like that"
pardhon mye spehling,
I thought the first sign of humor was the now famous phrase, "is that a banana or are you happy to see me"

some people like to get kinky and like to put on masks... just for the fun of it.

I am not sure I fully grasp the gravity of what you're saying... it's that serious of a threat? :)

It may be a waste of money... but you gotta admit some of those cars are pretty amazing
I believe it's called the Splash-dot effect
