I have a similar issue with photos. I have 2x 160GB drives set up in a mirrored raid array on a external FireWire HD. I use MacOS X's software raid. Not the best but cheap and effective. I'm planning on upgrading to 2x 400GB drives in the next year. I also use Flickr to "backup" my best photos.
Of course off-site backups would be best but that's a lot of data to send via wire.
They were talking about the west side of albuquerque which is basically separated from the east side of albuquerque by the rio grand. Most of the city growth is on the west side yet most of the city government resides on the east side. Rio Rancho is on the north north-west side of Albuquerque.
That's no big deal, really. We have been doing it this way at Intel forever. Even Andy Grove and Craig Barrett have Cubes. If you need privacy you go get a conference room. You can usually hear the people down from you having conversations. But it's no big deal after a while, I usually ignore most of it (except the juicy gossip of course which they should have got a conference room). You learn to ignore it. I often get a conference room when I want to talk to my girlfriend.
I suspect spammers would just include a counter to break checksums tho."
If that was the case, then wouldn't they be violating the DMCA? Then the FBI would have to go after them, right? Unless the FBI would selectivly enforce, and they wouldn't do that...
So if I go and buy a CD I can resell that CD to anyone I want. If I buy info, can I resell that info? What am I really paying for, the info or the distrubution?
Hey, I don't have a problem with using MS Office. They were the first to do it and they do it well. But I don't want to use Office on my MS box, go home and play games on my MS Xbox or watch TV on my MS entertainment system. I could go on and on. MS likes find a market and drive out all competition so they can dominate it with their less than stellar products. Choice is a good thing.

GraphicConvertor is an excelent program, but it is far from free. More worth the $40 than PS is worth the $600.
Now, GC combined with Gimp. That would be cool.
In some cases, people work really well and make a lot of product. But the product they made last week is setting around in a warehouse. If they had layoffs, they would probably have to pay the vacation time anyways.
Next time this happens they discover they have no more vacation time and have to be forced into taking days off with no pay.
BTW: Fab11, Intels largest fab is looking into just such as scheme.
X10 has some cheap wireless cameras that might work. Depends on how far you are from shore. Possibly it can be hacked to increase the range (common, I know it can!) Plus they are really small and could easily be hidden.
Then put up some fake cameras.

No, Rio Rancho is it's own city, with it's own government and everything. I only lived there for 4 years.

Might work with Image Capture in x.2. I know my Stylus Scan 2500 does.

The TAPR offers a card that makes a Compact Flash card act like a hard drive. Plugs right into a ATA-HD plug.CF is pretty cheap now as well.
Or does this sound like how bad things start to happen in the Movies?

Hadn't it been previously rumored that AOL would want to buy BeOS. So they could be more direct cometion to M$?

I giess they have never heard of newsgroups.
Also congrats to the Daily show. I laugh my ass off watching that. They deserve to win.

I played it on my PowerBook G3/400 and it's pathetic little video chip. Played great, none of the problems listed here. Guess it's a Windoes thing.

This is entertaining and makes sense. I think it deserves higher than a 2.
It looks like this is just the begining and they will make some effort to reduce it's size. Having it run on older Palm hardware is the way to go.
OS 4 really should be OS 3.7. It should run just fine on OS4.
There is enough hacking of DirectTV that I am sure someone will try.
What more do people need to switch to Linux or MacOSX?
