I don't know. It really seems like IDC has a bone to pick with apple. Read this cnet article and see. I'm not trusting IDC numbers when they seem that biased in interviews.
Also, that same IDC guy is predicting tablets to replace ultraportables in general, which will not happen.
But the difference between a standard blog and, for example, Pepys Diary, is the audience. Weblogs are meant to be viewed by anyway, by everyone.
Pepys diary was encoded and the code wasn't even cracked until long after his death. This, you get a brutally honest portrayal of what actually happened. Whereas with blogs, basically people are just trying to prove how witty they can be.
If you are in CS just because you think you will make lots of money, I hope you quit now. We don't need more people like you.
No, you've got me all wrong. I'm the kid who writes programs on his own to see if he can, and to figure out how things work. I'm the kid who constantly says, "no, we can do it this way, it is faster." I'm not the kid who is on CS for the money. I'm in CS because I don't know anything else I would rather do. I had alway considered myself lucky that the industry I love payed well.
For a while my plan has been grad school, I'm just hoping that will be enough time to allow for the industry shakeup and rebuild.
I'm just trying to be smart about my career decisions.
I'm a sophomore in CS now. My plan is to just stay in school until the economy gets better or until I figure out a something that needs to be done that no none else is doing, whichever comes first. But if the industry is like this, will waiting out the recession be enough?
My guess is that Apple has one, and it is good, but that they are waiting to see how the market likes Microsoft's Product. I've read that Job's said something like, "we have the tech to do it, but we're not sure it will be successful." But for the life of me I can't find the link.
Over at AppleInsider There has been much talk of IBM using an on chip integrated memory controller. This would be good because it would be FAST, but bad because it would probably use a proprietary form of RAM. So I guess we'll see.
Google News of course has pretty much all the acticles. They are all based upon the same IBM press release, but many make slightly different predictions.
As long as the user was the person who wrote the code I don't have a problem with it.
I wrote programs for my calculator for use on tests all through high school. It wasn't a big deal. I found that I ended up learning the stuff better because I had written a program for it.
Whose property is one's DNA? Your DNA is half your father's and half your mother's, and in turn their DNA is half each of their parents... So isn't in a bit pretentious to copyright your DNA?
I mean what happens if some parents try to sue their child and get the copyright to their DNA?
In the UK there are only five stations, it is pretty easy to figure out what channel you're watching at any time. In the US the average cable provider has many, many more channels than that. Having a little logo at the bottom of the screen helps to identify which station it is that you're actually watching.

You can return them. Apple has a 10 day return policy (if they're opened though, you'll have to pay a restock fee).

Linksys has a fairly good knowledge base article for securing their APs: Here

I'm looking forward to when all the networks in the US support text messaging. I think it would be fun to get little text messages....
