I think the difference is that Cardiff is still considered uncivilized. Cardiff youth are as Neanderthal as Los Angeles gang members, but without useful gunsmithing skills. How I enjoy watching the Cardiff hooligans robbing businessman at rush-hour with socks full of rocks. "Donchee move, guvnor, or yer head'll feel the wrath of me bloody rocksock! Now hand ova' the cash, man! Whot? Euros! What kind of bleedin' foreigner do we got here, boys? Let's take some int'national duties out of his arse!" Cardiff freaks. Stupid limey arseholes. "Oh, it's the Queen! Oh, let's have some tea and biscuits! And then some lard pie! We're so faggoty!" You all should be as ashamed of yourselves.

You have an antiquated Royal Family whose level of sophistication approximates that of American "trailer trash." Said Family is given special privileges and their celebrity is based on heredity. Please, sir^H^H^H^Hserf, remind me again how Britain's social system isn't suck in the Middle Ages. Please explain the recent BBC stories of students being denied admission to certain "Universities" because of their family names, while undeserving youth in the United States are admitted to prestigious schools on ghetto welfare scholarships every year. Are you aware that bizarre laws regarding "noble" people are still on Britain's books? Haven't you studied your own country's class-based legislation? At least the US once had the gall to recognize slavery and abolish it -- the British won't even acknowledge the truth. Limey fags.

Anyway, I never give these people any money. It's for their own good, really -- they'll be forced to give up their self-destructive habits, or die. I don't really care which, as long as the problem goes away, and these assholes return to their jobs at Sam Goody.

There was a time when this post would have been moderated as "funny." Today, anything which does not strictly fall within the bounds of the Cheap Software mindset is a "troll;" gone are the hilarious posts of yesteryear. Also gone are informative side conversations, which are today moderated as "offtopic." Slashdot has become an unnatural and illogical forum, a forum in which it is impossble to hold natural discussion because of moderators' zeal. (Actually, today it is more likely that a Slashdot janitor moderated The_Messenger down, since he is marked as an Enemy and thus a fair target for the janitors' limitless pool of mod points.) Come, fellow Slashdotters! Return to USENET and AOL Chatrooms! Return to IRC and ICQ! Slashdot died a year ago, yet the janitors have flaunted the corpse ever since, reanimating it with their NAZI censorship. Today will be remembered as the day that Slashdot realized it was dead. Readers will leave, advertising revenue will plummet, and the janitors will finally be forced to comprehend their ignorance. Good luck getting real jobs, guys!

  23. Yes, but can it compete with the XBOX? on Panasonic 'Q' First Look · · Score: 0, Funny
I wonder how Q's DVD playing capabilities compare to XBox's. You all know that XBox's DVD player is generally considered to be excellent, right? It's on-par with the newest standalone players. The PS2, OTOH, suffers from many playback problems, the most problematic for myself being flickering subtitles. These problems are widely known. So if you're going to buy a console because you also want a DVD player, go for the XBox. Sure, it's more expensive, but it has the best graphics, the best sound (have you heard it in Dolby 5.1? Wow!), the best DVD player, the hottest titles, and the most successful console launch ever! (Trust me, there's a reason why the Microsoft sold more XBoxes in the US during the presale than Sega sold Dreamcasts worldwide during its entire production run.)

Anyway, I can't believe that anyone would buy a console from Panasonic. Sure, these days any company can claim to have more gaming credibility than Pokémon Corp, er, I mean Nintendo, but Panasonic? Wow. I'd buy a TG16 before I'd buy a Q.

Maybe she should go to school on the short bus, too, for buying her children Macs in the first place. Between the inadequacy they'll feel as children and the inadequacy they'll feel as adults, giving a Mac to an impressionable young boy or girl is tanamount to child abuse. I will elaborate on these points below.

First, as children, Mac users must incur not only the normal bullying associated with geeks, but also the wrath of bullied PC users. Sad. Many will react with the Mac user's natural defense mechanism, the "artistic personality" thing. These types aren't really artists, but they like to wear unfashionable clothes and smoke weed.

Second, as adults, all but very few Mac users will be forced to learn how to use a PC in college or in the workplace. They'll be so inexperienced, even compared to the dumbest PHB, that they'll be passed over for promotions and generally regarded as fags. 'S true.

For more information on these phenonmena, see this post.
