    In the UK, red cars get most tickets because cops are playing snooker. (You have to sink a red before any other colour)

    They won't need to. For every dollar NSA funding is publicly cut, their "Black Budget" funding will increase by at least double .

    Things like electricity supply are monopolies by their very nature. Most people can't choose to have another company's cables hooked up to their house.

    Here in the UK, we can choose exactly this.

    This is because the gubmint (in their infinite wisdom) separated the cables from the suppliers.

    Thus we have National Grid in charge of distribution, but consumers buy power from one of dozens of energy suppliers.

    Why would they use an auto-pilot for an airplane? Shouldn't they use a plane-pilot for planes?

    Auto refers to automatic not automobile.
