    In London and it's commuter belt, trains (including the Underground) are powered by an electrified third rail. No diesel required.
    Most (but not all) inter-city lines are powered by overhead wires.

    It's not up to Google to push out OS updates.
    That devolves to the manufacturer & the service provider, both of whom will sit on the update until they manage to fill it with their own bloatware (A process that can take 6 months or more).
