    This might be an exception (hopefully), but until you can get one off NewEgg people stay cool and cautious.

    TA talks about disks etc. Solid state is the future, if I am not mistaken. We can have any number of flash memory "layers" even now... capacity is no longer the most important factor, other parameters like "write speeds" are.

    This should have been tagged "vapor ware". What about the materials involved (gold) ? Re-write ability ? Speed of write ? Speed of reads ? Possible seek times ? How well manufacturing of this scales ? etc.

    I am saying this for years. The worst part is that all Java applications use the same Java-runtime to access the Internet. On the firewall, for example, you see Java traffic through the runtime, but you have no idea what program under the Java's hood is actually using it. This is serious security flaw once you have more then one Java application running. There can be a Java Trojan and it would not get flagged or seen on the Firewall, because anything under the Java's runtime can access the Internet and we do not have any tools to inspect Java internals.

    I mean, feeding my monitor/tv through USB would be nice, but there must be some technical glitch like lack of bandwidth for higher resolutions and frame rates.

    Jokes aside, it works astonishingly well.

    For some reason I can access it (from EU), and I am quite surprised by the answers it is giving me. This is a Google killer at least for some questions... it has a clear edge when computation is involved. Clarity of the result is also unmatched by any conventional search engine I know, even Google, this truly is the first search with innovative approach since Google came around.

    If you really think that users can 'enhance' anything than you inexperienced, uninformed or just plain stupid. 1 guy in the thousand if not in the million is able to design quality looking Lich King in the WOW or great AK47 model while being low-poly enough for the 3D game etc. Also if he has the skill he will let you pay for it and will not give it away for free.

    Thinking that random users will enhance your game is like thinking that DIY bike enthusiast can beat Yamaha. You will wreck your game period, but may be we have a different game in mind..

    This is not YouTube. By allowing people to generate content to your game will certainly ruin it. Nothing worse the if the new user is greeted by a poorly designed level graphics created by "fans". Many games were ruined by doing just that.

    True, we have have about 3000-5000 webs running on single rack here. A high performance Opteron setup. Most people need only simple web that is hardly used, in real life most web pages are not accessed very often. If they happen to have some traffic (may be lucky 1% of them) they order dedicated servers anyway.

    You can't lower costs when banks are retarded and greedy beyond belief, they are basically unable to handle micro or low payments, fees start at $1 or so for transaction..

    The real reason for ban is quite different, the new street view used in Europe has hell of a resolution, meaning Greece tourism can be in danger, you can go around all the famous places from the comfort of your PC.

    I roamed around Napoli (Italy) the other day, and even get texture grade quality facades from zoomed details for our project. SV is really an amazing tool.
