They had a link that would return a random result out of the database. Many a boring night was saved by that link. Does anyone know if google has something similar?
when we can cheaply (less than $1000US) buy digital cameras with medium format sized CCDs. Zooming in photoshop only takes you so far. I can develop and print in a pinch without electricity. Never underestimate the power of a totally mechanical system.
You can purchase a 15 ton unit that is mounted in the ceiling. I just bought 2 of these.
It's made up of three 5-ton cooling units that can be individually controlled. If you can't vent into the plenum (ceiling), you're looking at putting in a glycol loop up to a condenser on the roof or outside.
Resource-wise, call Liebert and similar companies and have a rep come in and do a dog and pony show. Also check with local contractors, as they frequently know about palleted and sold units that never got installed, that can be purchased for a huge discount.
#2 Make a new friend; have a co-worker lick your eyeballs.
Seriously, though, a couple of vision breaks watching the birds every three-four hours, using lubricating eye drops occasionally will help a lot. It's what I do to solve the problem (I compound it with wearing contacts).
And having plugs stuck in your tear ducts sounds damn scary to me. Remember they're there before you get the MRI.
Send an anonymous email with the Microsoft IE download link to the entire corporation, the day before you take a vacation. If your helpdesk is up to snuff, it should be all set when you get back.
Oh, and look for snakes in your office when you get back.
Wrongo. I questioned one entry on my credit report, and it was wiped clean. I had nothing at all for a rating, in spite of being born in the US 30+ years ago, having gone through all the years of public school, work, 1040s, W4s etc.
If I was denied, at boarding time, the ability to travel, instead of when I bought the ticket, I would be one very loud and pissed off guy. Credit has nothing to do with travel rights.
Right now, I'm taking my Delta frequent flyer miles and giving them to the make a wish foundation. They have lost my business forever. If all airlines do this, I guess I'll be driving a lot.
1. Price 2. Low provider network saturation (3rd party utilization reports provided). No oversubscription. 3. Good SLAs, reasonably priced 4. Credits for failing to provide SLA agreed service. 5. Phone number to the carriers NOC (we actually contract all of our network monitoring, they have the #) 6. Monthly reviews of performance and pricing with an account rep/team.
And remember, a contract works both ways. If you receive shoddy service, withhold payment for a few periods to discuss performance.
What about the open mail relays? There is untraceable mail bouncing all over the place.
If the feds put the muscle against the open SMTP relays that are more likely being used for terrorist communications, the side-effects of less spam would gather them a lot of support, instead of this Don Quixote tilting-at-WiFi crap.
News flash, suspected terrorists will be forced to wear mittens to prevent communication via sign language...after the required $100 million spent on "intelligence" of course.
I swapped ISPs for a couple of years, and when I went back to the first one, they had never disabled mail and I got 2 years of mail in one download.
Email is a primary method of contact, and I had people that thought I was ignoring them, and they got pissed off. I also had initial contract offers (big ticket items, too) from 2 consulting companies. Since I had moved twice, the old email was the only contact info they had. Oh well...
But mostly I use them for rectum-stuffing. Screw the warning.
Spray paint can: "Do not spray in eyes."
Cotton Balls: "Do not insert in rectum"
Aluminum foil box: "Do not microwave"
If he's illegally sharing files, he won't squawk too loudly.

I have two separate 3" split tubes for AC and data, ducttaped around the ends. Easy, cheap and stylin'!
Sure they have an advantage. But it's equaled by the satisfaction of sneaking up and dropping a satchel charge in thier face.

That being said, I love my digital Nikon D100

I'll be able to pick up a free case of pinkeye from the eye scanner at the local Wal-Mart. My life is complete

* in-room porn movies
* did I mention strip joints?
Free time should be spent off the computing grid. Go remind yourself what boobies feel like.
I was contacted last night by UUnet, and tonight they are adding ACLS to all of my edge routers.
:) I love outsourcing.
Myself, I'm drinking a beer.

Give me a mailing address and a couple of burritos, and I'll mail it tomorrow ;)

But I like my escapist entertainment. It's a scary world outside. It says so right there on the TV.
I learned more debugging the errors in the printed code than I did in reading the frigging book.
Twisted, huh?
You're talking about geeks here. One condom is a lifetime supply. :)
Get a small chunk of wood. Screw it into an open slot. Screw a wall-mount bottle opener on it.
Having a place right next to you to pop your beer open is one of the small pleasures in life.
My strangest was baby mice. Popped a PC (DEC rainbow) open in my shop and saw these little squirming hairless fetuses, it freaked me right out.
Ah, the good old days. Think I'll go try to find Thayer's Quest on Ebay.

Got any openings in class, professor?
Have bong, will travel.
I wasn't paying for the account, though.
