There used to be a bunch of people attached to the "difference" ; ergonomics, look and feel, battery life, weight, OS, reliability. This had a price. And that was until 2 years ago. Now that Jobs ideas have completely dried up, a man at Apple didn't understand (yet) that the dream is over, and the company is on the verge of decline, like it was in the end of the 80s. No more fanbois, only people who need a bit more time to switch to something else, when that something is way better (and cheaper) than Apple's offer.
We care about thinness, of course. But not beyond some level. Of course, 4 centimeters thick is too much. But between 2 cm and 2.4, who really cares? We think it's too thin if the device may bend. If making it a bit thinner loses 1 hour battery life. Actually what's probably more of interest is the weight.
That's not the point, really. In the 80's we were developing in assembler, on a PC or on Apple ][e. We had the control over the whole one-threaded machine, made games, hacked games, made utilities... most of the stuff we made didn't exist yet, never existed... Everything was a attainable challenge and required a lot of innovation, we were creating the computer world from scratch. No library, no OS restriction. The machine as is. We were pioneers ; firms were overwhelmed by this new thing they didn't comprehend at all, we could get any job anywhere. Our development work was deeply respected. We were unique.
If you look Asian, all the Chinese food. If you look western, only the meals the westerns like (because there is a lot of stuff in the Chinese food we don't like!)
No need of extra thinness, but "an ugly bulge on the bottom", not sure I want that either :-(
So what do you recommend? Which laptop were you able to use for more than 10 mins?

Are you writing this on your 2 kilos shoebox sized phone?
Toshiba has always invested a lot in research, and their products were really good. Too bad that happens to them.
Are we talking about the latest IE (11?)
Same as IE. Only the color changes.

George Michael's death coming soon.
If the algorithm is actually really smart, it will advise you to avoid all fast foods, including KFC.

Btw shouldn't this article be in the "Ask slashdot" category since it comes from a reader, and not from some news..
The 2% of people who switched to Mac
...who may have switched back, due to unappealing new Apple offer.
These actions are first sanctioned at the highest level. Then, long after it's been executed, and harm done, mere apologies are issued.
And yet it was SLOW. Two algorithms implentations may take each 1 MB. However one is O(n) and the other is O(2^n).
Ghostery does this indeed (can block anything). But be sure to uncheck the "share data" options in settings...
You seem to go back to the future, while the article suggests to go back to the past...
Just get a 3rd party charger, they've proven to be very reliable.
Well, in 10 years we'll all be old and ugly, so does the ageing-reverse process restore beauty as well?
Just pretend you lost the L one, then the R one, thus get both of them for 138 instead of 159!
Windows is a malware. Uninstall that asap.
Why isn't it mentioned anywhere the ransomware works on Windows and only on Windows? Is it to avoid another Windows-bashing? Or is it that obvious?
I had the same problem on Wednesday with a wired connection. A reboot fixed it (after a lot of head scratching).
I also had the same problem on Wednesday, the last time I used Windows. But it was in 1998.
