if there are a very large no. of small files on a flash drive, it does take a while to delete(2000+files 3 min) this is on a relatively slow pendrive, but still..
But my favorite was how it handled text messages. Every now and then, she'd need to delete a bunch of them because it ran out of memory (a user should never have to worry about this, IMHO.) Deleting all of the messages took at least half an hour. No exaggeration. I've never seen anything that lame. It's like they were deleting the first, moving all the others down in memory, rewriting them to flash, then repeating.
Even trying to turn the thing of was nearly impossible to figure out. To reboot, it was faster to just pop out battery.
She returned one and got another, no better. She then got an iPhone and loves it.
even my nokia 6600 has these 2 problems dont most of the phones take 15-20 mins to delete 800+ messages?? though i never got a memory full error, the phone does slow down after 800+ messages so when i do sort through them and delete them, it takes abt 15 mins to do so.
so i could just go there at opening, have a lot of cola's, etc and other non alcoholic stuff and then get the tab waived off as the BA level would be 0??
actually, google would make a great government and in reality might just get big enough to start buying small countries at first and then slowly expand and become the world government
just imagine, if i wanted to go from point A to B anywhere in the world, i could easily look it up on google as, google being the world government would have all the information necessary, and no passports/restrictions/different currency conversions, etc would be required
even better, they might just be able to plan your life, just imagine that you want to spend X days in A y in B and z in C, google could automatically plan a trip, apply for your leave at office and the amount of money would be deducted from your bank account, all with just 1 click
I dont think that the iPhone is targeted to people who actually know how to protect themselves, many of them would be using blackberries/nokia E/WinMo series or other business focused handsets as their primary phone and the iPhone as a secondary media device.
"Instead of putting all this effort into anti-phishing technology, we should make people less stupid." then only those who want a media player would want iPhones
Note: all my comments are based on the original unjailbroken iPhone, have not encountered a newer version
best solution take 1-2 readings VERY carefully and then use Excel goalseek to complete the rest
have used C++ to solve many of my Maths P&C questions as well
what would take me 10-15 mins atleast to solve and be done using a short 20-30 line prog in TC++(i think its even easier in python , dont know how 2 use it but)..
the opposite happened to me today, made a C++ program to demonstrate the use of classes and made full use of constructors, destructors, data hiding and DMA
show it to the prof., he stares at it for 5 mins and then tells me to make everything in the class public and do the thing using arrays only....
global warming was done by us in order to survive the next ice age(there will be none as the extra greenhouse gases will trap more of the heat, so even what should be an ice age would be normal weather)
infact thats why our fossil fuels are running out now, they were planned in such a way that the reserves would end at a time near the beggining of the ice age...
Out of curiosity, which languages are these? I've been writing commercial software for 15 years. I try to learn a new language each year (ruby in 2006, php in 2008, python in 2009). But I currently have very little idea what "more safe" or "less safe" mean when describing a computer language. Any pointers?
i have done a particular topic in high school, then in 1st year of college as well, now when it is being repeated in 2nd year, maybe i just want to sit at the back of class while passively listening to the lecture to know if there is something new and when the new part comes i can write it down/pay attention
eg:-
done OOPS and classes in 12th class now in 2nd year the same stuff is being done so you read a book, but as you are also passively listening, you notice that a particular topic in classes was not done earlier so you stop reading for a while and understand that , then go back to your book
yeah, some of my 10 year old CD's were from no-name brands and after spending 3-4 years in a place with extreme weather( temp 40C to 10C, sometimes in the same day and 10-90%RH),the data layer from most of them started to peel off
some other even older ones, again from this noname brand, stored very carefully in an airtight bag were perfect, they were taken out only once in 4 yrs so that i would make a new copy of them incase anything went bad with the old ones, nothing ever happened
also, the ones that failed were burnt at 52x, but the ones that lasted were at 4x
and life insurance companies would charge the active people more as they walk/cycle more and ate therefore at a higher risk of getting run over by a vehicle...

anyone know what will happen if this technology is combined with http://spectrum.ieee.org/blog/robotics/robotics-software/automaton/robots-evolve-to-exploit-inadvertent-cues and used for tasks such as food harvesting also, robo wars of the 2 technologies combined would be fun -- superfast and evolving bots...
