Hmmz, to me the US is the worst. Not only do they want shit like fingerprints and my bankinginfo before I travel there... When you get there with a laptop they want to search it, every single time. It's idiotic and they have absolutely no right to do so, but they just say: well officially this isn't american soil so what ya gonna do about it? I am pretty sure that the US is the biggest economical spy in the world, followed by Israel, Russia, China and probably the Brits. I see France under the Brits.
Drinkypoo (wut?) said it all I think. The panels are more effective, but in the time that I build these pools I have never seen a customer ask for a black one.
The much higher production cost and lower market hasn't been factored in either. I can remember back somewhere in 198* that msx games were 80 guldens here (that about 30 euro now) and those games had prints of about 1000-5000 pieces. How do you mean it's getting cheaper? No it isn't.
Once I had a job making swimmingpool-installations. We also had the option of using solarpanels for warming the water. Worked great and the people that bought them had way lower operating costs of the pool. It's an investment at first but it's worth it. In Germany solarpower is huge btw. They have a law there that obligates the powercompanies to actually buy the leftover-green power from the citizens back to the network. Really a country-wide win-win.
Dude this is slashdot. I skip the first 4 sentences and read the last line to sum it up for me. Besides, I wonder what he is doing teaching this if he has to ask this. Just install a damn virtual machine and play in there. Don't infect the lab that other teachers students need to use with a virus that you have to ask someone for.
You just follow the course and let your Prof decide when it's time to get the whole lab infected? Do your self a big favor. Get permission first. These sort of things have put very smart kids in a real jail.
Well, I can't say to MS you have to implement this. And lets be fair here... Support for XP has stopped, it's an old OS. Making such a transition as this will never be easy. There will always be systems that will need to be upgraded or where you maybe have to find a solution as simple like a usb-networkdongle that does have hardware support for ip6. But sure, you have a valid point. Some people with old software/hardware will have problems with this transition.
Stop the madness. Give us ip6.
We (as a society) would gain so many productive hours without NAT and the shit that comes with it. (Portforwarding etc). We have the technology ready to go and give everything it's unique ip. Can we please use that tech? It's not like it's high-tech or to new to be implemented by now.
Well here in the Netherlands I think there is 1 provider left who lets you run your own server. All the others block your traffic on 25, forcing you to use their mailservers. Which is a bitch when you also run some domains from home. I don't know how my comment made me a troll... What is wrong with free internet? What is the next step? Should ISP's cut of customers who search for a word that some goverment doesn't like? ISP's should not cut of anyone. They should make sure their internal network is ok and protected. The only reason I can see why someone would drop a connection is when someone is sending out so much data that the pipes get to full. And that would be the only case. In all other cases I would say: just give your customers some virussollution. So that the ones that care, can protect themselves and the ones that don't haven't to be bothered by it. Doesn't mean I can't see why some people are in favor of this. Just not me. But I am not trolling here lol:P
They should not, for the same reason ISP's should not filter ports (25 anyone) like a lot of them are doing now. Also to see if someone has an infection you would have to monitor the traffic. While that can be automated it is none of their business. They just rent an internetpipe to me. How I care for the security of that pipe is up to me. That's what I am paying for. I can see that this would benefit some users and would help make the internet 'safer' but installing a good firewall and virusscanner wil keep you reasonable safe also. And one thing still goes btw... if your system is mission critical... consider if it really has to be on a public network. A lot of times it doesn't have to be.
Common sense and thinking for yourself instead of only believing what the media and our Generals Staf wants us to 'know'. I love it. Let me get that Karma up for you a bit;)
He is probably wondering when he sees the data-costs after getting slashdotted if it wouldn't have been better to just buy a couple more paintings. From Rembrand or something like that.
I didn't compare them to the end-solution of the Nazi's... But let's be honest... there were only a couple of Auswitches and a lot of 'nazi interim'-camps... But's that a whole other discussion I guess. Kids should know about these things, because it has happened. And these days kids don't know abou these things. It's a shame really. You can't tell history when you leave a part out. History comes in a complete package. Useless in parts.
Give this fellow a medal. I am furious when I hear USA-kids tell me (Euro-fag) that without them I would speak German. When you ask these same kids how they feel about the Jap-camps the USA had in those days they look at you as if they see water burn. They haven't been thought that part of history. Same here in the Netherlands. We are being thought about Anne Frank. The famous Jewish girl. We aren't being told about that the Dutch had one of the highest degrees of telling on people who where hiding those Anne's... And there are many, many more examples of this. So give this guy a medal for putting history as it should be... the way it was.
Don't get me wrong, I normally am on the EFF side of things, but if you write this: Today EFF, joined by Public Knowledge, the Computer & Communications Industry Association and the Apache Software Foundation, filed an amicus brief asking the U.S. Supreme Court to hear a case in which Microsoft is trying to make it easier to invalidate an issued U.S. patent.
Well... than you did not get it and you lack any connection to the real world. And despite this prob being a bit of 'fun'... rest assure, at MS they take this very serious.

The vids on the site where put on youtube in 2008.... Could this be a hoax?
Here in the Netherlands we have this technology as far back as the 1950s. Hell, our whole government is composed of robots with rat brains.

Maybe they can send Bruce McCandless to go check it out for us?

You know... you really should upgrade your toaster.

Where is my -1 "commercial" mod-option?
The price of the wood.

Are you ok buddy? You failed to get the idea behind what I am saying for sure...

But when I put my bottom in front of it I ended up with a huge black hole.
Neh, I still have some ethics!
