Commercial = money is being made from its use. Distribution for free is allowed. So you can spread my movie around all you want but since movie theaters are a money making enterprise, I still have a monopoly on movie theaters and will still make large amounts of money.
Your system also has a "setting the boundary" weakness. If I take a book, change five instances of the word "big" for "large", and redistribute it, that won't be copyright infringement. You can argue that that's not a significant change, but then what defines significant?
Why just limit duration? Make copyright apply only to commercial activities and Hollywood can still make ridiculous amounts of money with movie theaters, Adobe can still sell to corporations, and authors can still sell paper books to people who prefer reading that way, without infringing on any of our rights.
Enshrine in law people's right to circumvent digital restrictions ALWAYS. If people are committing copyright infringement while circumventing a digital restriction they're still infringing copyright, there's no need to add another offense to the list.
We own 80% of AIG, so 80% of AIG is technically part of the federal government. That means we should have open access to everything just like we should have open access to the Congress, senate, court system, etc.
What about teenagers who, as shown by the laws against letting them smoke, drink, etc. aren't expected to know better?
I think if most mothers who want to abort simply because they couldn't make the right decision (before now making another wrong one) to begin with were forced to be a mother, society would be better off
I very strongly disagree on two counts. First of all, I believe forcing women to work for society in that way is slavery. Second, I believe this might enlighten you a bit. Summary: unwanted children are not loved by their parents, who treat them like crap, and they, unsurprisingly, tend to become criminals more often.
If you believe in something strongly (and forcing women to harbor a parasite for 9 months / killing children, depending on which way you see it, is an emotional subject), you tend to think the other side is made up of assholes.
Survival time is most definitely relevant. Surviving 100 seconds lets you do twice as much damage to the enemy before going down than 50 seconds does. As for the limited mana pool, you get the exact same scaling issue with mana regen.
The fact that all copies of the software were deactivated remotely. It's a needless act of destruction, only somewhat justified by the fact that they themselves created it.
You start with: 0 gold You earn: 7 gold per hour For doing the following task: Gold farming in an MMO, in which you are a 36-year old male in Virtual Akron, Ohio.
Since God is omniscient, can I sue the pope for privacy infringement?
That's a lot of capacitance to store in a cage.
Did you mean a Faraday cage?
Want not to read = you have a desire to leave the book unread
Not want to read = you don't have a desire to read the book
So if you're feeling neutral about the whole thing, the second one fits but not the first.
Making money is not evil. Making money at the expense of a non-consenting individual is.

Isn't it two gears? You need a gear to mesh with the first gear.

they had a choice when they let that guy put that dick in them, right?
Unfortunately, too many teenagers don't know any better.
I would recommend not having children. If you have it and refuse to spread the genes, you're accelerating the disease's eventual extinction.
If you believe in something strongly (and forcing women to harbor a parasite for 9 months / killing children, depending on which way you see it, is an emotional subject), you tend to think the other side is made up of assholes.
Ok, that one post of news years in advance makes up for all the two days late news on Slashdot, right?

There, that covers the calendar's 400 year period exactly.
You are right, but you've abandoned the argument of the AC to whom I was responding - that dividing 12 is more convenient than dividing 10.

No, I simply disagree with it. If every small thing is too small to matter, we'll never have any progress.
Which is exactly why everyone should learn metric - it's objectively superior and there's no reason to hold onto Imperial.

He said implode, which is red matter.
