  1. Re:WoW on StarCraft II Delayed Until 2010 · · Score: 1

I am not sure that I agree with this argument.
I have never been interested in WoW and I never will be. However, I really enjoyed SC and I plan on buying a copy of SCII, as well. So why would Blizzard want to refuse my $60 when I am not one of the people who pays them $12/month?
On the other hand, if your argument is that WoW players will, all of a sudden, stop playing WoW and stop paying their monthly fees so they can play SCII, I don't think it will happen. Not if we are talking about players that have played WoW for long time and invested all that money and time into the game.

In my opinion, saying that Blizzard is not interested in releasing SCII so they can keep milking WoW is the same as saying that Blizzard is not interested in more of your money for SCII until they can't make any more money from WoW, which is just not true.

It is actually rather funny how many people agree with you and how many people think that lawsuits like this one are a joke on the judicial system.

However, parents nowadays need to have someone to blame, at all times, for their own failures and for things that they should have done. It doesn't matter why they did not do it, whether it is laziness, ignorance, or plain stupidity those people don't deserve to have kids and furthermore, their kids don't deserve their parents.

With that said, the fault for such lawsuits does not lay entirely with the parents. If we had more judges and/or juries who looked at things like this and realized that they are a joke, it would be a different story. Image that you sue someone for something stupid like this. You go to court, the judge looks at you, looks at the case, and prompty throws you out with a swift kick in the ass. Now, how many more other people will try to follow in your footsteps?

That is just my opinion, I could be wrong!

  3. Re:One trait I always look for when purchasing pho on Nokia 3650 Released in US Market · · Score: 1

This phone on the other hand, with its circular dial pad, can't come close to meeting this criteria. Nokia seems to have been trying to make it more and more difficult to dial their phones using the keypad, and this particular model seems to be quite the shining example of their hard efforts.

That was my primary concern when I was getting ready to buy the phone. Fortunately, a co-worker already had it and I had the chance to play with it and see how the dial pad felt.

First, for me it wasn't/isn't that bad and I can easily dial after some use. The phone also has voice activated dialing for up to 25 numbers, as well as, one-touch dialing (I also heard that it has the capability for up to 8 voice commands.

The combination of the above and the loudspeaker makes it easy enought for me to use it in the car.

  4. May be a combination of all? on Making Banner Ads Suck Less · · Score: 1
I personally think that a combination of some or all of the suggested features will be the best way to go. Individually, all of the suggestions have drawbacks but by combining two or more of them into one system could make the system better.

For example: The ability of a user to choose the category of ads he/she wants to see would be better if, alongside, he/she can choose what kind of ads they like. What I mean is not only choosing whether they like car ads or computer ads but also whether they like pop-up ads or animated ads.

The idea of being able to click on a link and never see the ad next to the link ever again is also nice but there are so many ads that one will never see the end of it. On the other hand, if the user can choose his/her categories and be able to individually ban ads, the ad system will be a lot more flexible to the preferences of the user.

The karma system, even though, a good idea, is probably the one that would not work as excpected (in my opinion). The reason for that is the fact that, as soon as, anyone accumulates enough points to turn off all ads, he/she will do it and the user will never see ads again. Given long enough time and enough users, no one will be looking at the ads the ad system has. If, on the other hand, the 'turn off all ads' feature is time-limited, it would create a lot of angry users, when one they ads start poping up on their screens again.

Finally, as I said before, I think that some kind of combination of the presented ideas will work better then the ideas by themselves. But this is only my opinion, I could be wrong!
