Most likely Viacom's contract stipulates that their channels must appear on the basic lineup, and may NOT be on a premium tier, IE, Dish Network can't charge extra for it.
Apache isn't distributed under the GPL though, it falls under the Apache License. I don't believe SCO has ever made any statement as to the validity of the Apache License, and as such the Apache Foundation probably can't do anything about it.
Consider people who receive paychecks instead of direct deposit, cash their checks at the grocery store, and keep their cash on-hand. How well do you track that? That's just dandy too, because your employer will keep track of that for you. No worries!

and the Disney op does not have substantially more personnel than Comcast..
I was reading MultiChannel News, and it put the employee numbers at Comcast - 60,000, Disney - 110,000. So it appears that Disney has many more employees than Comcast.
However, Comcast has a market capitalization of 70 Billion vs Disney's 56 Billion

Oooh! I can play! This time I'll be the Cable Operators.
1) Cable COs see that VOIP competition is eating away at a new market they want to be a major player in.
2) Said Cable COs roll out DOCSIS 2.0 wih Quality of Service (QoS) provisions.
3) Cable COs give their VOIP packets highest priority, and everybody else low priority.
4) Customer calls to complain that their 3rd party VOIP is choppy. Customer service says "We can switch you over to our jitter-free service for only $5 more per month!"
Are there any back doors showing in the source... I'm talking out of my ass here (This is Slashdot, what else is new), but I think that would depend on the source of the leak. If the source is from a Dept in the Government, or an educational institution, I would guess Microsoft would have removed any backdoors before shipping the code. Of course, maybe it's a leak from the NSA, with all backdoors intact;-)
In fact, I'm not buying any Motorola phones until they come out with one that supports Bluetooth. Sorry Nextel, your service is useless to me until you get some decent phones.
Yes, Hooters on Rt 38 in Maple Shade =) I used to live a block away from it. I'm there every other Thursday or so!
I did call the Sagemore store this morning. They had the more expensive M-Audio one in ($149). They put me on the call list for the 49E though, and I think I'll wait for that one.
Has anybody found a good place to buy the M-Audio Keystation 49e? The King of Prussia Apple Store never has it in, and the estimated ship date from the online Apple Store is 4-6 weeks. I want that keyboard, God Dammit! For $99, it's a nice USB Midi keyboard.
I did. Why? Because IE is dangerous, has no popup blocking, and no tabbed windows.
What about Mozilla/Firebird or whatever? I don't like them either. I never have. To me, Opera is a better browser than all of them. I'd be using it now, but I registered Opera for Windows, and I'm using Safari on OS X now.
Clerks, Mallrats, Dogma, and (obviously) Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. For some reason Chasing Amy comes to mind to, but I forget what the relation is as I've never seen it.
How can you mention Clerks and not the others? Clerks was my least favorite! It had no plot, just that whiney bitch the whole time.
It's like saying that if sshd asked consecutively for two passwords before granting access, that would be more secure.
In a way it does. It firsts asks for a username, and then a password. If one of them is incorrect, you don't get access. But SSH doesn't tell you which one was incorrect.
Port knocking is very similar (but not exactly the same). You need to have both keys (port combination) and login info in order to get access.
The difference is, without the port combinations, you can't tell if the service is up, or your port combination is wrong.
Best post of the day!
Wait, are you talking about solid copper wires, or hollow pipes to be used as waveguides?
If it's the latter, that's pretty damn cool.

Do they even sell servors?
No, but they do sell servers!
The lawsuit as a technology hasn't been defeated yet
I wouldn't call the lawsuit a technology as much as I would call it a social process.

With a swift kick to the nuts!
Fucking christ! Yes, I should have put it as Cable Co. but I wrote CO instead. Yes, in this case CO=company.
wow.

Wait, so in order for GarageBand to lose several megabytes of excess code, we have to download a 21 meg file?
I love Apple!

as a cable company owning ESPN can't be a bad thing.
Not to mention ABC.
Comcast sold it's half of QVC to Liberty Media sometime last year.
And they own the Philadelphia 76ers (Basketball), and the Philadelphia Flyers (Hockey).

I'm also seeing a large rise in connection attempts on 3128 as well - at least as many (if not more) than 3127. Anybody else seeing this?
I did. Why? Because IE is dangerous, has no popup blocking, and no tabbed windows.

Definitely worth $39.
They are saying that to exploit would require a patch to the Linux kernel.
I like your way better though!
One time pads would solve that. And once a SSH connection has been completed, you can transfer new pads.

SHUT UP BITCH!
