    Google's page rank patent has no reason to exist. The point of a patent is to protect innovation in trade for disclosing how that innovation is done. Google does not disclose how they rank pages. Their actual page rank algorithm is a trade secret. They seem to get benefits both ways, patent protection for the page rank idea, but don't disclose how they really do it. That simply seems to violate the spirit under which patent protection might be granted.

    The study takes a very nieve view of updates. They assume any update can have no new problems. They do not even mention the possibility that the update might be worse than the user's current version.

    Software sometimes does have bugs. In fact, many of the updates include security patched to fix bugs.

    Grabbing the latest new thing is often just as bad as waiting too long.

    They are not there to protect the people from terror, but to defend the Constitution from its domestic enemies like our President.

    Hillary doesn't need to win on the first convention ballot.

    Edwards has 26 pledged delegates. Barack needs to win by 50% to take it on the first convention vote.

    Hillary only needs enough votes to force a second or third convention vote. Edward's votes are 'not for Barack' votes. Once those votes are freed, then all votes are freed and politics kicks in. Then its the momentum mood of the day and backroom deals that count.

    The Apple Human Interface Guidelines were based on the Human Interface Design Principles defined by Bruce Tognazzini. They have stood the test of time.

    These principles include the use of Metaphors, Modelessness, User Control, Direct Manipulation, See-and-Point, Consistency, Feedback and Dialog, WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) Forgiveness, Perceived Stability and Aesthetic Integrity.

    Additional considerations include Knowledge of Your Audience, Worldwide Compatibility and Universal Accessibility. You can find these concepts explained in detail in Apple's Macintosh Human Interface Guidelines.
