Are you suggesting that all non-religious people are more intelligent than all religious people? I wonder what Albert Einstein would have said about that...
Why are we outraged about this? Obviously because we should be: its an attempt to supress free speach. What I want to know is why it appears nobody is upset about Campaign Finance Reform laws that state that private citizens will not be allowed to speak out against a politician 60 days prior to election. Its no different. We need to keep up the free speach fight- on all fronts!

Oh, wait, I didn't mean great... I meant terrible!!!
Blues Brothers and Wayne's World were both great. Blues Brothers 2000 and Waynes World II were both so terrible that they rendered the previous films invalid!!!
Fair enough... In that case I misunderstood your original post. From the point of view of a software developer, the idea of free software scares me a little. Granted, and maybe hypocritically, I use freeware/open source stuff a lot, especially SDKs and whatnot... But as more and more software becomes free I can see fewer developers getting paid to program. The company I work for already looks for freeware whenever it can.
Harldy. MS is still doing very well, but Linux is digging into some of the market. They are a corporation, and a corporation exists for one reason: TO MAKE MONEY. The more of the Linux market they can erode the more they can make. I really don't think there is much more than that to read into this.
Giving away your product for free is not a good way to make money. Even Redhat doesn't do that. Redhat actually took it up a step: they let others write for free and then sell their work at a profit. I don't understand the idea that software should be free- especially since I am a software developer.
You are a crazed fanatic and I feel sorry for you. It must be sad to live in ignorance, having nothing better to do than flame on message boards. Moron!
I've never had a fear of credit card theft. 1. I can dispute charges (I suppose you can't do this with all credit card companies). 2. They ALWAYS call me if there is any "suspicious activity" on my card.
There have been times when I used my card 5 times in a single day, and of course the call me to make sure its all legitimate. I guess I don't know if all credit card companies extend such benefits to the customers, but my cards always have (Platinum, gold, and even those crappy ones you get in college when all you really wanted was a candy bar.)
Granted, this does not excuse sloppy software and ISP's leaving our credit card numbers exposed to the world, but it does increase my confidence in my credit card.
How is what I said disrespectful to the people of China? I think its wrong that their government censors what they can see and hear, as if they are children and government is their father.
"That story" from 1989 better not get old. It represents all that China (and, arguably, Communism) stands for- oppression and dumbing down of its society so that they do not question the authority.
See: Cuba Russia [Insert name of African country Here]
I love it. Every time the Commie argument comes up on Slashdot you get some bozo saying "China is bad, but they are not communist, real communism has never been tried, blah blah blah, Capitalism is evil, blah blah blah, I hate corporations, blah blah blah.
I wish I had some points to mod this comment up...

That arcade is the coolest thing one I have ever been to. That have some really wierd stuff from as far back as the 60's.

but at least he has a profitable business model, unlike all the failing dot-coms!!!

How is MS going to end up bankrupt? Do you really think this, or are you just hoping because you hate corporations?
Millions??? Where did you get such a statistic? Are you implying that there are more Linux developers than users?

I have heard stories of Bill Gates basically playing bumper car's with his Porshe in a warehouse. Sounds like fun to me!

Hey, you may have gotten modded down, but I am laughing my ars off!!!
Oh great, I already spent all my energy arguing about communism and oppression yesterday, and now I have to do it again!
