This is definitely cool... I hate to see any sort of technology go to waste.
Hell... I have a Commodore 64 and a Commodore PET sitting downstairs.... at least I'll be able to tell my kids "See what WE had to put up with when we were 8 years old? REAL hackers don't need 4GB of RAM...";)
I'd like to get my hands on one of these.... never fear, I hate the Evil Empire(tm) as much as anyone else... I just want to turn it into a cheap Linux router....;) Why let perfectly good (?!) hardware go to waste playing some cheap M$ game?
Man, I wish I would've seen this article about 4 hours ago... we're having a mini-LAN party here and one of the guys had hiccups for about 3 1/2 hours straight...;)
I agree totally with this. A lot of people I know have tried Linux and ditched it simply because they couldn't figure out how to do simple tasks (PPP, printing, etc). Most of them said that if there were some kind of help function available (either directly through X (like the Help thing in Win9x) or through one central website, they probably would've stuck with it. But until then they're back to being under the control of Microcrap.
I personally taught myself Linux, essentially, (with some HOWTO help, of course), but that kind of dedication is generally only present in programmers or other hacker-types... which, obviously, your average Joe who thinks that telnet is a program to use the voice functions on his modem is not (a hacker, that is.)
{And, yes, I *have* actually had someone tell me that Telnet stood for "telephone something-or-other"... heheh)
"how bout a geek chick? (like me:)"
"trust me.. there isnt anything more attractive than a geek hacking in his boxers at 3am with a bottle of ice101 by his side;)"
Could you please provide us male geeks with a clue as to where to find more chicks like you???;)
I'd kill to meet a girl like this, but none have come up on the radar yet...
"Downloading"?? Whoa, sonny, are you from the future or sumthin'??? Back in the day.... ;)

It doesn't matter if it makes them feel better... give them Quebec anyways! ;=)

I'm not sure which is worse... this song/story or the fact that I'm actually posting on Christmas day... hmmm... Comments anyone?
I'm going to go buy a 'naked' PC right now and then pirate a copy of Linux to... oh, wait... damn, seems like M$ didn't quite think this one through.
Where the hell is .linux?
Or .hacker or something??
Us hackers (geeks???) should have our own TLD.
What do YOU think?
