Taking pictures of the sun?

Speaking of the sun, I recently bought a DSLR camera, and I would like to take pictures of the sun with it. Does anyone of you know how to go about that without destroying the camera's sensor or my eyes? What kind of filter do I need? Some people suggested a piece of glass that people use for welding; is that good enough?
Why is it that many people suddenly don't seem to learn punctuation and capitalization in school anymore? Your post might be very interesting or insightful but sorry, my eyes hurt just looking at it.
I think with optical they mean there is no ball but a red LED or LASER in the mouse. Aren't all mice optical nowadays? They can be optical AND wireless.
So you'd rather survive the crash with a bleeding headwound from a gameboy and no further injuries than just be able to normally use the emergency exit?
Another thing is that in the case of a crash, you don't want all those mobile phones flying through the plane and injuring people. That's why you are not allowed to use electronic equipment during takeoff and landing.
The EU is also looking into that. And also into the fact that as a denizen of one EU country Apple doesn't allow you to buy anything at an online Apple store in another EU country. This is illegal since we have free travelling of people and goods within the EU. It's strange that Aplle has been able to get away with this practice for so long.
I agree. And why do all these newfangled websites use pictures? I can hardly view any site in my beloved lynx anymore! It's so easy to do it right, why do so many places get it wrong?
GaInP and GaInAs are very(?) expensive, and poisonous to boot. I'm not sure this is the right way to go. Imagine having to deal with lots of discarded solar cells made of this stuff.
? I never saw a screen like that.
What a cool new verb: to upmod!

You forgot Mugabe.
Yeah, or you could cancel all the noise from Airport Schiphol!

Hey, there's an idea!
/runs off to the shop to buy a spray can of paint.

Hm, no wonder we have global warming. The meteors use up all the oxygen.

Yeah, that gives a nice tickly feeling!
I'm not sure I would want to put my balls in the fireplace if the power or gas goes out.
Yep. I have something similar at home too. Works well.

About your sig: my online bank allows only numbers in the password... sigh.

The problem is that it is a very human characteristic, almost like instinct. That's hard to eradicate.
Yes, and it isn't Troll either. It's a serious concern for many people. Grow up, moderators.
Please, this isn't news, speculation can hardly ever be taken serious, and this belongs on Digg, not Slashdot.

And let me add that the car was not invented in America.
+5 Insightful, LOL! That's the most funny comment moderation I've seen today.
I RTFA, and the only things I learned are that:
1. It's very bad;
2. They can 'make me click anywhere on the page'
3. It's very bad.
Yeah I was wondering. Does it open the gates to the Dungeon Dimensions to let the creatures that live there in?
