Yeah now I understand why the link to ninemsn was in the blurb. Nobody will be able to actually play the game and win a t-shirt because of this silverlight thing.
That's not true. As you could see in the posts above, Apple's actions do bother at least some of their customers. I know it annoys me. But they compensate for their practices a lot better a=than MS does by offering a vastly superior OS and beutiful hardware that in some cases is worth the extra money.
Why not just cut the electricity? Easier and faster than putting a heavy object on the rails (which has to be VERY!!!! heavy to stop a long train going very fast), and you save a lot of lives too.
Oh, I didn't even know that. Anyway, I think it's utter bullshit and has in most cases more to do with the abominable state of our education system than with the intelligence of the children involved.
Hre in NL we would say that your kids are 'hoogbegaafd', which means they have an extremely high IQ and should be treated with extra care and sent to special schools just so they learn that they are very special and become obnoxious brats. I'm glad to see there is a different way of treating them. And sorry about the sarcasm. Dutch fads often get to me.
I live in Europe. Things are done different here, apparently. From your answer I gather we only get SIM cards here that are already 'activated'. Put any SIM in any unlocked phone, and it just works. No extra actions necessary.
Luckily I work at en educational institution and I could get it for 15 euros. But I agree that that is much too much. But I'm tired of arguing with people about software so I bought it anyway.
I'm with you a long way. I hate the iPhone with a passion, but what do you have against the MacBook Pro? You get what you pay for in that machine's case, which is a very high quality laptop with a beautiful design and the ability to run all mayor platforms trouble-free. I love mine.
Why the hell do you need to 'activate' the thing at all? I've never 'activated' a phone before in my life. The things just work. And I always buy my phones without a SIM lock and without a subscription. What is this 'activation' business anyway?
I'm with you all the way. I hope Apple gets fined big time for their iPhone pranks here in Europe because they're absolutely ridiculous and illegal here.
I don't know. You could impress your fellow tribesmen with your wits and knowledge, and make them do things for you because of fear or awe. And people could talk back then, so passing knowledge was possible. But you're right, most of your time you would be busy trying to stay alive.
I guess we all agree that tools are indeed percepted as parts of our body. Even computers. I always marvel at the things I do with computers without even thinking about it. A few weeks ago I had to explain to my aunt, who had never used a computer or anything else then typing and browsing before, how to rip a CD and put it on het mp3 player. That was about as hard for me as explaining how to hold a pen and write with it. It comes so natural I don't even think about it. Our brains are miraculous things. How difficult would our lives be if we had to think about how to use the knife every time we want to make a sandwich!
BTW, is there anything known about diseases where people don't see tools as an extension of the body?
But driving and talking on the phone, wether or not with a hands-free set, doesn't work well. I threw out my hands free set and stopped using the phone in the car because I had just a few too many near-accidents while I was talking on the phone. Talking and driving are two very independent tasks but I think both use either too much processing power, or they both use the same area of the brain for whatever reason, which makes you bad at both.

Yeah man. Programming is like digesting food to all people: everybody does it without even being aware of it.
Look around you. Get real. Think before you speak.

I find it funny that you got modded flamebait.
Face it guys. XP will be history very soon. Get over it. Use Vista or OS X or Linux, but quit whining.

My sister had a kid a year ago
What did she do with it, bring it back to the dealer?

She was in the next room in the building and also never came out for coffee.

That's a whole lot of unsubstantiated factoids. Why doen't you provide some proof for all your claims?

My father didn't want OO on his new laptop, 'because it is different from MS Office.' So I bought him Office 2007. Mwuhahahaahha!!!
I will cancel my Flickr account when MS buys Yahoo, just to pester them! That'll teach them!
I always wonder what it would be like to be a nerd in the Stone Age.
Ho that is interesting. It's on my 'to order' list. Thanks very much.

I have a friend with whom I've been in the car a few times. He always almost crashes into things while he is talking to me.

Hurray. Finally I'm not tied to a certain player anymore.
