I primarily use a MS split keyboard at work and use my left hand. On conventionally-laid-out keyboards, I use my right hand since that's how I was taught in school.
At my workplace, Red Hat server licensing is pricier than Windows Server licensing. I'd love to move servers off Windows, but it'll be hard to justify if it costs more.
My workplace used to have an Engenius cordless.. it was awesome. It worked all around our campus (three different warehouse-sized buildings) without a hiccup for years. Finally died after being dropped too many times.
You'd really want to build in a chroot'd environment on another PC.. or at least use distcc. If you did that you'd probably want to nfs mount the portage build & source directories so you don't run out of space quite so fast. It'd sure take forever, though..

Or you could install Gentoo. That'll eat up the CPU, RAM, and hard disk for darn near eternity.
