    Then that makes the original question kind of silly. Of course the car is going to be almost dead quiet, but a turbine requires much more effort, and space (well, mostly space) than a piston engine does.

    He stood firm as a bystander on many important topics, like a football fan yelling at Howard Cosell on the TV. Has no effect on the game, but it's easy, and he looks good to the folks back home, but the one time it got serious he buckled, as he knew he would have to. I'm sure it played well to his peeps. No big thing. You simply don't bite the hand that feeds when it's also the hand that kills. He has a career to keep alive, and as long as he can bring sufficient money into the party, he'll have that career.

    Yes it's because of that intake box. It's a very effective muffler. I can assure you a turbine engine by itself is everything but quiet.

    Extremely... That big giant "box" you see under the hood is probably the inlet baffling. Turbine inlets are just as loud as the exhaust. The article is full of shit about the gears..

    What happens to the 60,000 rpm turbine (and associated pieces) in an accident?

    I don't know... Maybe about the same as what happens to a 100,000 rpm turbocharger?

    Deleting them works for me too. Just delete everything from NYT. But don't block them. The registration form will pop up with a "cookie error".

    Freedom of religion does not grant special tax status. In fact doing so is a violation, as the government is granting exemptions only to certain religions it recognizes as such.

    Corporate death penalty. Revoke the charter. Seize all assets. Render all shares worthless. It would be very effective. The so-called "innocent" share holders? Tough shit... Next time keep an eye on the people you invest with.

    Corporate officers who make decisions can be charged personally for any criminal violations that may occur.

    So yes. it can be made as simple as desired.

    I'm just saying that the impracticability of space travel only illustrates our lack of knowledge, and some wrongheaded theories. We won't be forever confined to our present day jalopies.

    You know, sailing ships used to take enormous government resources back in the days of terrestrial discovery. It wasn't easy to get the fundage then either.
