We are too far from the central office for any kind of DSL from qwest. Can the wireless carriers be considered ISP's at this point? I do occasionally use the Mobile Hotspot option on my Palm Pre Plus, but would never consider it as a primary home connection.
From the linked article, "Ever since the introduction of online gaming 10 years ago with the Dreamcast (Yes, I still love it) it has become a staple of many games on consoles, and PCs."
I believe how you first think about the term "Heavens Gate" may have to do with how old you are. I instantly knew what the poster was talking about in reference to heavens gate being a bomb of a movie. Then again, I remember when the movie Heavens Gate was released, and then reading about what a bomb it was. For those younger than me, 43, the term has a different meaning.
As far as Palm goes, I've had to wait for Sprint exclusivity deals to end in order to get the Centro. Now I'm waiting for the Pre exclusivity on Sprint to end in order to get one from Verizon.
How long will it take for the National Sex Offender Registry overlay to be created? Then you can be sure your kids are safer, when your phone alerts you to a nearby sex offender.

Apple can introduce any emulator they want on the iPhone. This won't kill the Palm or the Pre. Why? For the same reason I currently don't have an iPhone. I'm a Verizon customer. When will I be able to get the iPhone on Verizon? Who knows? Now with the Pre, who cares? As the history of the Centro shows, I should be able to pick up a Verizon Pre at the end of my current contract in 2010. At that point, how many Pre apps will be available? How may ways will we be able to jailbreak the Pre and get full use out of it?
If Apple is able to offer the iPhone on more than one network by 2010, they may just take over the U.S. market for smartphones. I don't see that happening, so the Pre and it's kind will always be an option.
What would be ideal for these small form factor "netbooks" would be what IBM did back in the early 90's. The 701c with the butterfly keyboard. If they came out with the equivalent today, on a netbook, I would snatch one up in a heartbeat.
Isn't the bottom line of any "Business" to make profit? It would seem to me that purchasing proprietary software would thus offer up less profit in the end?
Are you sure you are still at 7Mbps? Cox second-tier when I signed up last year was 7Mbps/512Kbps. When I went to check a couple of weeks ago to see how much the top tier cost, I saw they had bumped up the top tier to 20Mbps/2Mbps and the second tier was 12Mbps/1Mbps. So I went to broadbandreports.com and did a speed check, and sure enough, I was bringing down just over 12Mbps and up just over 1Mbps. Give it a try if you are on Cox high speed.
Yes I remember GW-BASIC. At that time it was the only compiler I had for DOS 3.3 based PC's. I wanted a stand alone phonebook application. Dbase III would have worked great, but each PC would have needed to have it installed. So I started creating my phonebook in GW-BASIC. I incorporated as many structured programming practices as I could, which I learned from Pascal. If I recall it had a main menu that called several sub-programs for searching and listing phone numbers in our office. I eventually had an add/change/delete menu listing to update the phonebook file. This was a flat text file that was read in on program load. Wish I still had the program. I would love to take a look at the code today.
Yes, we do 99% of our Netflix viewing in the living room on our HD TV through the PS3, either the streaming or the DVD's.
1st Gen Macbooks were 32bit Core Duo's. 2nd gen and higher are 64bit Core 2 Duo or the latest Core i processors.
Why aren't the wireless carriers using the private IP ranges? Why does my smartphone need it's own public IP address?
Perhaps the Romans were all left-handed?
Our options are:
Cox Cable
Dial-up

This table includes the monthly base pay for all pay grades, as well as any incentive pay.
Single soldiers deployed to Iraq/Afghanistan, they would receive Hazardous Duty pay: $150 and Hostile Fire Pay: $225 for all pay grades
Married Soldiers would also receive Family separation allowance of $250 for all pay grades
So, for an Private E-2 with less than 2 years of service, that's quite a bonus over his monthly base of $1,509, but not even close to 3x his base pay.
For a Major 0-4, with over 12 years of service, it's a drop in the bucket of his base pay of $6,088
I am left handed you insensitive clod!!
