I believe that the plane that crashed outside of Pittsburg had turned around and was headed towards DC at the time that it crashed. I don't believe there was any intended target in Pittsburg...
I'm dissapointed by the number of ignorance laden posts like yours that I've run across - the *last* thing anyone needs right now is a nuclear weapon detonated...
don't forget the fact that the US government has a nasty habit of pretending that everything Israel does is all well fine and dandy, and chooses to portray the Palestinians as the vilans - the real situation is much more complex than what the US gov gives lip service to.
go ahead and use woody (it's testing now) or even sid (unstable) if you like - they're nothing to be afraid of, and tend to be pretty "stable" - suitable for everything but a critical server perhaps.
it's just not that easy. the alt tags, and all accessibility stuff need to be in multiple languages. it is not as easy as going through and adding *an* alt tag to each image. nor would it have been as easy as adding *an* alt tag to each image as the site was constructed.
this is often a good bet - I left school and started working at an ISP doing tech support (which, by the way, is absolute HELL). In not too long, I was a tech support manager. However, when their perl programmer left, I took his place (I'd been working on my perl skills at home while doing tech support). After I'd been doing web and systems work for a while, my resume was strong enough to get me a job elsewhere.
umm, my understaning is that the opposite is happening - in germany SAMBA was a product name only because SAMBA stood for Something Alta-vista's Babelfish A... errm, didn't translate well;)
samba the product here is the actual name, it was just derived from the acronym SMB...
I definetly agree that networking should be stressed in HS Comp Sci. I wish we'd *had* a network in my high school - I started with Turbo Pascal on 268s. I think network related programs would be very good alternatives to games - things like IM apps, chat apps, network monitors and the like stike me as intersting projects. It would probably not be too hard for the more advanced students in the class to a write simple multi threaded web server either. As students are likely to use applications like this daily (and probably enjoy the time spend with them more than MS Office apps), they'll probably enjoy figuring out how they work and coding them up.
I suggested working in groups because if your school year is any where near as short as mine was in high school they won't be able to complete any interesting project in time by themselves. Plus all of the additional reasons for wanting students to work in groups.
While working in groups can be good in general, I think it can be a pretty tough thing to do right in a HS Comp Sci class. Often, the students have very different levels of ability. Also, when coding in a group, it is very important that the group communicate well and often. Not to mention that without version control (using CVS, for example), it programming in a group can very easily become very messy. Just my 2 cents...
I have a '99 Yamaha R6, which by default runs on gasoline or methanol. I haven't run into any gas stations in the area (NY, NY) that have methanol, although I must admin that I haven't really been looking. Anyone have any idea if any newer cars can use methanol without modification?

Hello Moderators! can you say flamebait?

if that was the most interesting project, i'd hate to hear about the others!

I think it would be a little silly to expect that you'd be able to find the perfect model, actor, or musician via text alone....

word up. glad to hear someone talk sense
I think everyone that's ever said the work unix got that...
it's ironic because evil Microsoft has hired eveil Mr. Reed to lobby for them. on second thought, maybe it's just plain fitting....
The aura looks like a pretty neat setup. Too bad I couldn't find anything about a nagging co-worker ejection button...
