Five minutes in the primate house of any major metropolitan zoo should be enough to convince any thinking person that humans are part of the same evolutionary tree, but it's obviously not.

It just doesn't make any logical sense though. If there really are some sort of slightly evolved apes or monkeys or primates whatever you want to call them that were the previous edition of "modern day" humans, why aren't they still around? Why don't we find whole skeletons of these millions of years old humans/primates like we do the millions of years old other fossils? Why can't we teach ANY of the primates in the zoo to speak (not sign language either, out loud as most of us not at computers tend to communicate)?

I've seen the so called fossils, the skulls made out of fragments of bone, the pinky, toe, arm bones that someone thought would be the latest and greatest link. It just doesn't make logical sense. You complain about how the religious like to force feed you their doctrine and beliefs, but I am sick and tired of being fed the same nonsense coming from the "science" community about how we came from primates and how they are finding new evidence to prove their theories (oh, wait, I think they said it is fact, then why does it still need to be proved?) Stop looking for clues to bolster up your theory if it is fact!

Everyone has some sort of religion, whether it is something they visit weekly, or just something they think about and argue for on forums and in comments. Everyone has a religion. Not necessarily religion based on books, or gods, or something to worship, but something they base their beliefs and morals on, something that sets apart right and wrong for them, something that gives them a reason to live life and be a "good" person (or a "bad" person if they so choose). It may not have a name with an "ism" or "ity" at the end of it, but it is still something that the beliefs and morals are based on.

Funny how you say that religion is child abuse, I just find that funny.

  6. No USB, No Flash, sounds like iMac criticism on iPad Launches, FCC Teardown Leaked · · Score: -1, Troll

When the iMac first came out I remember that big complaints were that it didn't have serial ports, or even a disc drive. It only had a CD drive. Yet it was still a big hit and brought on the evolution of USB greater than other computing platforms. It seemed as though Apple said that serial and SCSI ports were a thing of the past and moved on with USB and firewire connections. So, lacking USB ports doesn't bother me about the device.

  8. Nearly Invincible V3 on What Has Your Phone Survived? · · Score: 0

I worked for a construction company for a while. My boss had a Motorola Razor V3 through AT&T which went through quite a lot before finally breaking. He traveled to NY city with his kids and said it slipped out of his hand into the street and got run over by 3 cars and a big truck before he was able to retrieve it. I personally witnessed him drop it in a cup of Coke twice while driving, it fell out of his pocket on two different occasions and was run over by a "John Deere 650" Bulldozer, he dropped it on the cement/pavement many times (100+), he also ran it over with a Front End Loader. When it finally did die, both screens were still intact, plenty of scratches, it was the second time that it had been run over by the bulldozer, this time he was driving the dozer and talking on the phone when it slipped out of his hand on to the ground, where he ran it over and snapped it in two pieces. Sim card was fine and transfered to the next V3.

  9. P2P downloading is illegal, not all downloading. on US Fed Gov. Says All Music Downloads Are Theft · · Score: 0

I think it is funny how they show a guy who has found "a site" where he can download music from, then they go on to say that you aren't allowed to use P2P programs. So, I guess that downloading music through a P2P program is illegal, but getting music from a website or from a source like newsgroups is ok. So, not all downloading music is stealing. Just downloading from a P2P application.

Kinda paltry to go after a small sum like that. I know it is part of his share for the article, but if WIRED was behind it they could offer a better sum like 50k or something in that range. I guess I won't look for him, mostly only because I need 5k beforehand to afford some transportation.

  11. Re:Quake 2 "Jump" on Finding New and Unintended Ways of Playing Games · · Score: 0

In 03 I played Counterstrike, some players would gather in a corner and jump on top or each other, then on top of some boxes, then up through the "roof" where they could then walk around on top of everything, shoot through walls, and not be killed (except by admin). I thought this was one of the funniest things to see in a game, they also respawned up there each time the game was over.

I like to find tricks or weird things you can do in games. Some call them glitches, but I like some of em. Like walking through walls on a PS2 game (the name escapes me at this time, but the version 2 was something like world at war?), crashing a car in a unique way on NFS Carbon. I once flipped a car on a drift track, it went airborn and over the barriers on the track. I wasn't able to get back on the track after that and time ran out, that kinda sucked cause I had an awesomely high score which was ruined.

Early 2000 I did a bit of research on the topic and found somewhere a document, converted to a jpg, that showed the RIAA's claim of loss of income to be fewer records released, not because people were downloading music for free. I lost the doc in some data transfers from hard drive to hard drive as equipment was upgraded, but the facts were that each year they released more records and their profits increased each year, when 1999 came around they however released fewer records, thus having decreased profit. But they claimed that people using p2p caused their loss, total bullshit.

"I figured anyone could be more fiscally responsible than Bush and Hannity and Rush's fanatic complaints about him being a big spending liberal would be way off. I was proven wrong. Instead I have another idea if you want to help the economy. Cut government spending. After we have lower interest rates from less panicy government bond holders we will have a revenue increase and once books are balanced the need to hire again will return. If no one wants something a big check wont help the economy. The market needs to fix it and the government needs to help the market rather than prohibit it by making them pay for socialistic recovery schemes." Does this mean that you have adopted the RIght's conservative ideas of less government, less government spending, fewer "elites" who know what is right for you and will govern you accoringly by spending all YOUR MONEY and telling you they are just "SPREADING THE WEALTH"?

I have a lot of things I could do with 18 mil. I surely hope that this company was chosen because they reviewed several bids from several companies and found that this company was able to offer what they wanted for the least amount of cost compared to the other companies that put in a bid. Not because they contribute to the Majority Party. I hope, but am afraid as most politics go that this is not the case.
