Yes that is what I was thinking - can the shuttles engines (or just leave them there is removing them would be too much trouble) and bolt it to Engira.
Of course there would be a "few" details to work out - but I bet it could be done.
Would it be worth it - that is a different story altogether. (And would a whole new crop of issues pop up? Probably.)
But actually, you are correct - various products called "sun tubes", "solor tubes", "light tubes", ad nauseum have been around for many many years (and some of these used fiber to channel the light as early as 1985).
Not true - Germany developed and used the first chemical weapons in WW1.
As far as atomic bombs go, Manhattan Project was a joint effort between the United States and England (I believe Canada was also involved). We just edged out the Germans - interesting how that country gets mentioned twice.
I have read that it was all a coverstory so that the USAF could develop this "Aurora" plane that the tinfoil hat types keep going on about.
(In all fairness the SR-71 existed on the realm of the tinheads for a long time too before it was finally made public.)
Just curious!

It doesn't have the same design flaws
- no SRB with faulty O-rings.
- no foam covered tank sheeding leathal FOD
- it can be operated unmanned.
The reason they scrapped it was because they ran out of money.
BUt you are right - they have been rusting away and are probably beyond repair.
However Engira could loft US orbiters...
I wonder -
how much to refurb the remaining Buran orbiters?
could we can the engines and mate a US orbiter to Energia?
instead of developing a new system, why not license and build our own Energia's (or do what the Russians do and just steal the plans).
It is proven technology, and supposedly the Cold War is over. Oh yeah, national pride and all that...
I didn't know that!
I would imagine that pre 9/11/2001 very few web sites mentioned the September 11th attacks...
...if they want to go wireless.
Stop referring to themselves as CABLE (which is simply a wire) companies.
...is that back in the day when really only technically savvy types owned or operated computers, is when MS gained their stranglehold on the market.
We would like to think MS somehow bamboozeled the teeming masses, but that is BS. It was us they bamboozled with MS-DOS of all things.
We did this to ourselves.
I saw this exact product - minus the GPS pointing collector - in 1985.
The only difference is that the collector was a 2 foot dome on the roof or wall of the house.
Hawhawhaw.

Well, you would have a very very fast 1991 vintage PC.
User level threads - sloooooow.
would this have cost had you not stolen most of the components? (Serious question.)
Threading is (or maybe was) a bit fsked, but still cool.
Seriously, computers and the software that runs them is all cool to me. Anyone that thinks otherwise needs to get laid.
It says, "You are a complete and utter tool."
I also wonder about this....
>>frankly I'm amazed they are still in business.
Microsoft Q4 2004 revenue $9.29 Billion USD.... and the fact that they are still in business is suprising to you?
Maybe have a few machines in a public area with web access so that you can download needed stuff (drivers, documentation, that sort of thing).
I have wondered why this practice is not more widespread.
...after all they both have four wheels.
Fool.
...monkey do.
Just pulling your chain. ;-)

Safe to say that the target audience will be home on a Friday night. ;-)
I have seen more and more of them running Windows (2000)
