Cranium rocks!!! I really don't anyone who doesn't like this game.. Really I don't. In fact, the only time i've heard anyone talk badly about cranium is on slashdot. Who knew?
Its just total fun with lots of people. The questions are easy enough that you don't have to be rocket scientist to get them. That makes the game accessible. There is word games, drawing, drawing with your eyes closed, humming, charades, even sculpting with clay. So there is always some in your team that can do one of those things well...
Now, I can't even play pictionary or trivial pursuit... i just find those games boring.
I personally think the iPod is superior due to this reason: the integration between your Mac/PC and the iPod itself. It is seamless. Getting your music to the iPod and synchronizing your music collection is a no-brainer using this device. Plug in your iPod and iTunes will automagicallly load up and start synchronizing your tunes. Or using iTunes, you can manually just move music on. Total idiots can easily figure this out because the Mac basically does everything for you.
I have used other players and it absolutely sucks getting music onto the player. Musicmatch is the biggest piece of garbage I have ever seen. It's buggy, it crashes, and the UI is so damn confusing. I have never seen the ease of use that iPod and iTunes offers to the user in any other device. Its sad to see all these other makers try to compete when they miss the point. They miss the point that the iPod is just killer when it comes to the synergy between the PC and the device itself.
That is what you really pay for. Oh, and you also get a really sick device that looks awesome, easy to use, really light, and sounds great. What more can you ask for? Its not all about the actual device. Its about the complete package.
Definitely definitely for your Powerbook. While Apple laptops are pretty reliable (IMHO), anything portable is bound to be beaten and battered into a state of broken-ness. While the price is pretty steep for AppleCare, the service is really good and they will pretty much help you with anything. I have an iBook with AppleCare and it was worth it, considering my screen started blinking out a little while ago. Considering that the repair might have cost several hundred dollars to fix without it and I got AppleCare for about 200 bucks. Got it fixed in about a day.
Of course, if your machine never breaks, then you're probably going to think it was never worth it... but in any case, it will help keep that resale value high if you decide to get rid of it before the warranty is up.
Well, the problem with this is that the different services have differing technologies. Right now, only GSM phones have the ability to have sim cards in them, thus making a service portable amongst different GSM phones. If you have a CDMA service (i.e. Verizon, Sprint) you are out of luck, because there is no sim card ability and Verizon and Sprint operate on different CDMA frequencies (although YMMV)..
There is talk about producing CDMA phones with a sim card-like ability, but it is currently in vapor stage. Until then, Verizon and Sprint can pretty much dictate what phones live on their networks.
If you really want some type of phone portibility amongst the carriers, your best luck is to get ATT, T-Mobile, or Cingular for their GSM network. Then you can pretty much just move a new sim card to your old phone and voila... Also, if you get one of these phones, you can also use them in Europe (with the appropriate service and if the phone is multi-band))...
I got to play with one of these things at the last CTIA... I think its a really awesome device.. I haven't really played with the old Sidekick, but the screen on the new one is pretty sharp with a nice res... I surfed over to some sites and the image quality on it was excellent... it was like looking at a laptop screen... The construction seemed solid enough for me... I thought it was one of the coolest little gadgets at the show...
The service seemed fairly fast on it (web and IM), but then again, they was probably a T-Mobile cell blasting at it in the next to the booth...
If I wasn't stuck with VZ and their crap phones, I'd consider getting it!!:)
man, these April Fools articles are 14m3!!!

But anyway, I think its worth it.
No, i think there is a 29.99 unlimited data plan for T-Mobile. You can get this for any phone or with the Sidekick...
Just FYI..

Anyways, just my two cents
