    You seem to think that insurance companies are driving the price of healthcare, and not providers. Insurance prices are set basically like this:

    insurance premium = estimated cost of providing care (that is, the fees charged by healthcare providers) + taxes + admin expenses/profit

    If you have a giant hospital system dominating a metro area, what do you think would lead to lower prices:

    1) One or two giant insurance companies negotiating with the hospital on behalf of the majority of the residents of that metro area

    or

    2) 15 different insurance companies, each with a few thousand members in the area negotiating rates with that hospital?

    Should put quotes around "software" ... it was a problem in a vba macro in an excel worksheet they were using to have insurance companies communicate prices to the exchanges / rate review system.

    I recently had a small stroke on the left side of my brain. The only impact I can tell is some very slight speech problems, which are almost gone just a few weeks later. It would be neat to compare my MRI to the areas mapped out by this to see if I can notice any losses. Too bad my neurologist is not interested in talking more than spending five minutes telling me to eat better and take aspirin and a statin from now on.

    The makers seem to be uninterested in making LED or CFL bulbs that are as bright as a 150 watt incandescent.

    I'd love it if they did. I'd fill my home with them.

    Forgot to add, what makes note taker hd so great for me:

    0. decent handwriting capture
    1. import pdf files and annotate them with handwritten notes
    2. export notes to .pdf file and send via email
    3. tagging of notes/notebooks and a good search database to help you find notes on any given topic

    The best combo for handwritten note's I've found is ipad + the note taker HD app.

    If there is something as robust available for android I'd love to hear about it. I'd sell my ipad and switch.

    As an added bonus, note taker HD is written by the guy who created the first spreadsheet, visicalc.

    I wear glasses, and the biggest problem I have with wearing headphones for long periods of time is that the phones tend to smash my ears against the glasses. After a few hours, my ears start to hurt.

    They should build some phones that have a feature to reduce the pressure against the ear at the point where eyeglasses pass behind it.

    THere was a story on the drudge report website yesterday about how the us plane tried to head away from china after the collision but was forced down by the remaining fighter. The story is no longer linked on his site. Does anyone have the text of this? I wonder if this is not picked up on by the more mainstream media because it is unreliable, or because they are news twisting asslickers with thier own agendas.

    If we apologize, it will be seen as an admission of wrongdoing, a confession. I wonder how China would treat the troops once they are confessed criminals? Reminds me of all of the rambo style movies where prisoners are "pressured" to confess so that they may get less severe punishment.

    I don't think you would need to wear gear. It sounded like they would have the lasik machine take the distortions in light passing through the cornea and lens into account when calculating the cuts for your eye. (This is in addition to the corrections they currently make.)

    Fuck you mod. That post wasn't "flamebait." The shot of the orange juice carton in the movie really stuck out and was annoying. It took my concentration away from the story. It was the only thing I didn't like about the movie.
