  1. Re:Field dependent requirement on Ask Slashdot: How Many of You Actually Use Math? · · Score: 5, Insightful

I haven't seen any clear way to calculate say an integral using something like c++ or c#.

Calculus is a study of continuous mathematics. C, C++, and every (?) other programming language work on principles of discrete mathematics, which is why you can read all about strange calculations with floating point variables. So, what you've seen is only natural.

My understanding of it is that most colleges/universities do not even consider offering discrete mathematic courses until at least Calculus 2 is completed, and in some places not for a year after even that.

Seriously A facebook email address says one thing about you , you use facebook. So when your boss see's it and sticks in a friend request how do you tactfully say never in a million years.

Personally, I would do it by declining the request. It isn't hard. If that isn't option because he's a scumbag, accept and add him to a group with the same privileges as non-friends.

The availability of methodology does not change whether or not a thing can or can not be falsified. Your implication is that if technology progresses, we may discover a means to disprove one of the theories you mentioned, which further implies that you recognize the inherent falsifiability of the theories.

Creationism, however, has nothing to do with theory. It is a belief that a god created the universe and is completely and utterly uninterested in the mechanics by which this occured. THIS is the distinction between science and belief: belief is why a thing happened and science is how a thing happened.
