My school also received the complete source to W95, NT, W2K, and Office! M$ paid us to just to look at it, and write testimonials. The nice guys from M$ said that, even though their own apps programmers can't see the OS source, and the OS guys likewise can't get the apps source, since we're neither one, and just students, we can see it all!
Calm down. That means he didn't really see it. Neither did I, and I looked. In fact, I found a story about NT2000. Fairly nice to MS, till the end, where the author said a Unix-type server would already do it all, for far less cost.
You guys have, in effect, boycotted Toshiba for getting the info to make excellent boat propellers.
How do you contrast that with the ideals of OSS? Should information only be free to people we like? It should be obvious that any hostile power running their military computers with Linux will certainly have an advantage over the M$ using countries (Including the U.S.)
See your DVD players get worthless, now that they won't handle the new watermarks.
Or see them quadrouple in value if watermarks are viewable, but not enforcible by the older generation.
Anybody care to wager?
Not as slow as EMP'd gasoline burners.
Do your local building codes check for RF leaks in your Faraday-cage home where you live?
Didn't think so.
Buy a deisel. No electronics at all. (Except glowplugs, but I doubt you could take those out)
Just remember to push start it.

It's GPL'd too.

Face it, M$, Now you're about to have some serious benchmark problems with NT to contend with.
Anyone want to form a betting pool on how some popular magazines benchmark's are going to turn out?

I've had salesmen tell me lots of whoppers. None beat that one, though.
Who cares? The more people out there who limp along on NT, the better my company runs in competition.
