  1. Re:All-Male Cast? on Simulated Mars Mission 'Returns' After 520 Days · · Score: 1

Consequences of pregnancy. It is highly likely that any long term space mission would be single sex. A pregnant astronaut is just as much of an issue as a dead astronaut on a mission to Mars. Sure there are contraceptives/surgery, but life has found a way in past, and it simply wouldn't be worth the risk. In addition going beyond the phsyical having a mixed crew for such a long duration introduces even more potential psychological factors that can result in failure of the mission.

Well I posted this as a joke, as I think that while you can find cocaine/drug residue on a large percentage of money in circulation, the actual amount is so low there is no way it could have an actual effect. Kinda like smoking Hemp to get high. You'd die of smoke inhalation before you even got a buzz.

No, but stem cells to the the average joe have achieved a similar status as nuclear power. AKA while there is are perfectly safe(nuclear) and morally fine (stem cells) way, they both suffer from their earlier associates. After all, ask yourself whats the first thing that comes to mind when you say stem cells? Usually it's the embryo controversy.

Well, a Dyson sphere would technically take the resources of several star systems to create. We are after all talking about a sphere, likely with a shell of a minimum of a hundred miles thick (likely much more), the size of the Earths orbit around Sol. That's BIG.

All things considered, it does. I've done the call-center trenches, making barely more than minimum wage. Yeah, it does suck hard. However, I've always enjoyed helping people (I'm sick in the head I know) and I've moved on to a company that pays well (50k+benefits/bonus, got close to 60k last year) and I'm doing essentially the same job I started out doing (its more technically complex however) I LIKE my job a hell of alot more now that the company supports me as an employee. And I know it affects my job performance, and the support the companies customers receive.

Wether it's truly external (extraterrestrial) or fabricated (ie Watchmen) and large, globally effecting event would be great towards galvanizing the general human population towards looking up. Nor would it need to be a disaster like Hollywood likes to project, just something AMAZING.
