True, very true,
Remember my uni, lots of people there who really didn't have a clue, or should I rather say a feeling for what they did. They learned enough to get through the exams but that was that. They couldn't really use the knowledge because they didn't know how to use it in real life - they could just use it to get through the exams. Then there are of course these people that just amazes you with their knowledge. Did a extra year at uni after I finished just reading more programming and OS design (I'm actually supposed to play around with digital electronics, but found out that it was more fun to program for unix and win than naked systems) and I met some of the smartest people I ever met in my life (that's including some teachers and some students).
Think the most important thing is never to stop to learn, always try to get a job were you can learn new stuff and were there are people working that are smarter than you so you got someone to learn from - well, that's my motto.

funny you should say that, The first time I saw all my flatmates in one room at the same time was when we got our Dreamcast.
Now we all socialize every now and then in front of the DC playing Ready for Rumble...
Hmmm, think it's mostly the scandinavian countries that uses YYYY/MM/DD. The rest uses DD/MM/YYYY. think there was a process long time ago (1970s?) where all european countries was supposed to standardize on YYYY/MM/DD, most european countries didn't give a damn, but of course sweden (as the rule-loving country it is *s*) they jumped on it. (can't really speak for the rest of scandinavia, not sure what they use)
...but that wouldn't change the gravitational force, sorry... Earth is just a satelite spinning around the sun, the only (well most noticeable) gravity is from the Earth itself.
*NIX has always been about choice. Deal with it. Using KDE myself, but am following the GNOME development with interests, since I believe it to be more expandable than KDE (IMHO). Thinks it's a bit too buggy yet though for me to use... I'm very glad for them both though. THey both represent somethingLInux desperatly needed
>The W9X window border is thicker on all sides to >that of Mac OS up." yeah, and win98 now got an thicker menubar in each app. yet more pixels lost... BeOS got one of the neatest UIs I've seen. Those little tabs are wicked - now if you only could shrink thos borders a bit...
Don't think you really need to freeze the poor souls, just bring their temp down to around 1 -4 degrees C... People will still age but, very, very slowly... suppose it wouldn't work for 10000 yrs though...
Ah, jsut silently switch proxy at work and then just wait and look at peoples reaction... Oh, I wish I had a video camera - digital, of course... Then you can tell the non-techies that it must have been the I-LOVE-YOU virus that disturbed the nigtly rebuild of the net and watch then gaze in horror... something like that...;-)
In that case... Why not rewrite the Dialectizer as router software? COuld be a nice little project... A bit of a pain though to make sure the message in the packets gets dialectized in a proper manner, like packets coming in wrong order, a word cut of in the middle between 2 packets etc, etc... I suppose you wouldn't be able to br ing it up to the application layer because it wouldn't be a router anymore so all work has to be done in the network layer....
As mentioned earlier among these comments. You *might* be screwed anyway. MAny of the western countries do have some kind of agreement (can't remember the name) that allows them to kick butt in other countries when it comes to copyright law... Remember the norwegian who got caught in norway cause he violated american copyright law? Maybe we *could* set up the site in sweden, arguing that it serves the same purpose as babelfish for us swedes *gringrin*
Sorry, he's male and human. Bitches are female doggies...

Well, hasn't MS gone into the hardware business??? They could have a shot at it (pun intended) c ya
