This missed this story about earth's habitable period ending in a billion years.

Actually it revolves around a lab at Case Western. Just ask Michelson and Morley.

Well that sounds like last call to me. Time for a good old fashioned goodbye bash complete with spilling oil in the oceans and setting it ablaze, leaving all our electronics and air conditioners running 24 hours a day, and do every other thing that trashes our planet. I knew that Al Gore character was out of his mind and global warming wasn't man-made. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to have a bonfire fueled by all my plastic bottles....

Was this DVD style menu idea for a CD not already tried with the Enhanced CD/CDInteractive back in the early/mid 90's?

I like your idea for the technology you call "Folder". Mind if i expand on that an create what I'll call a "Library"? This "Library" will be a user-defined collection on files portraying the data independent of your "Folder" tree. the User will be able to group and flatten the tree however they desire by aggregating multiple physical locations into a single view. If you can get your "Folder" technology together in time I'd like to go for an official release in late October 2009 for my "Library" technology.

First round interview was not specified, so the point remains valid. Also the "HR stuff" is very relevant information when deciding if you want the position or not, in my experience, no time was ever a bad time to ask it.

The overtime issue is a good one to ask. Different places also pay out for overtime differently, if at all. I've heard of no OT pay, your hourly pay(or equivalent if salary) + $10 an hour, to time and a half, and will likely vary as you rise up the ranks. 401(k) and if you're lucky pension plans are important too. Some places will match a fairly decent amount.

Doesn't have to be a spare, it could run from your main rig if you wanted to. Doesn't even have to be in the same room. TV backs up to my computer with only the wall in the way, which is fairly easy to run a cable through. Besides, if you're asking questions about the version of linux installed on a TV, you likely have an extra computer to use, or wouldn't mind putting one together.

And DON'T plan on using a wireless mouse or keyboard - those things are so range-crippled now that unless you are within a couple of feet of the receiver (and I mean that literally: less than 4 feet!) they won't work (and that's not some no-name keyboard: that's a Logitech).

I have a Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard set that is 6 years old. Works just fine 6 feet away from the receiver.

just using the PC input most HDTV ship with? That way you get your full blown computer running whatever "[open standard|Linux|hacker]-friendly" system you want.
