I once signed up for AOL all inclusive phone service. I got dial up Internet, and local and long distance for one price. After regaining my sanity, I canceled it. About six months later, they began billing me again. I called customer service, and had the charge reversed. This went on for 4 months, bill me, credit me, until I called the FCC and reported them for "slamming" (switching my service without my permission) and fraud (for billing for a service they were not providing).
About 2 weeks after my complaint, I got a very frantic, angry phone call from someone who said he was a lawyer representing AOL and I had caused them much grief with my "false" complaints. Bottom line, I never got another bill from them, and got two follow-up letters from the FCC asking me if AOL resolved my complaints. Sometimes the FCC works !
"Reasonable expectation of privacy" is the legal standard used in privacy related lawsuits.
You are talking about cameras in changing rooms, but you could also be talking about this case. A Private citzen, saw what he thought was criminal activity, and called police. This case is very similar to This Case Where a retail mail store owner opened a suspcious package, found MJ, and called police. Citizens are allowed to report what they believe is a crime, and the police are obligated to investigate. Both these individuals may have civil quarrels with the people who snooped on them, but I don't think you can fault the police for investiagting.
I did see it, first time I ever saw him. He was more professional and well spoken than any of the commitee members. I was kinda surprised, having never seen him before.
Frankly, I'm just sick of the self-rightous political nonsense assumption that it's ok to tell the rest of us what is "ok" and what's not. This used to be primarily the domain of the "right", but it seems to be spreading like a nasty rash.
I would just like to point out, that the person who started all the noise on this issue was... Hillary Clinton Democrat, author of It Takes a Village, which advocates letting "the village" decide what is best for your children.
Don't blame this one on the Right.
I am OP, I am running build 1812 (?) I think, it's about 2 months old. I could not get FireFox or Winamp, or Itunes or Nero to install or run. Someone modded me troll, even though I said it ran well Some of the newer beta's probably fixed this. To the guy running FF, what build are you running ?
Time to live (TTL) is an 8-bit field in the Internet Protocol (IP) header that indicates how many more hops this packet should be allowed to make before being discarded or returned. It is the 9th octet of 20 in the IP header.
and
Shorter TTLs can cause heavier loads on an authoritative nameserver, but can be useful when changing the address of critical services like web servers or MX records, and therefore are often lowered by the DNS administrator prior to a service being moved, in order to minimise disruption
Great timing on this story, recently recieved a 12" IBook as payment for setting up a small network for a friend. Aftr about a month, really like it, and ready to take the Apple plunge. My question, go for brand new Mini mac, or older, but better well stocked G3 or G4 PowerMac. ? Saw a nicely equiped older, G3 Powermac for $250. Seems like a good way to try out a MAC before I take the full fledged geek dive and shell out $1500
Toms Hardware had a review a year ago.
I've been happy with the Antec they reviewed. You know what they say, the best power supply is the one you never notice:-) Review
"You know, I hear there are lots of drug dealers on the corner of 3rd and Main"...
IANNAL, but I think that is called "aiding and abetting". You assited someone to commit a crime.

Having been through chemo, I know that the first thing the nurse did each time was show me each of the syringes that were to be injected into my IV. Each was labelled with the medicine name and dosage.
Its called the "Five Rights" it is how you are supposed to verify the patient :
Right Drug ?
Right Dose ?
Right Route ?
Right Patient ?
Right Time ?
I dont care if it's Tylenol, the nurse should ask you this each time he/she gives you anything.

For instance if the doctor entered the incorrect dose
I've worked with these types of machines for years, they WILL pick up these kinds of errors, but they will also give alot of false positves. Many times the doctors will order more than the maximum dose, in emergencies, in cases where the person is very sick etc. The machine will not dispense "more" than it is programed to. In these instances, I just opened it with a key, and took what I needed. Drove supervisors crazy:-).
The nice things is they pick up on interactions that me, the nurse, or the MD may not even know about.
Can't I download the mp3s without breaking the law? Spyware is spyware. It should be illegal, period.
First, I think **AA all suck. I am not defending them. From a practical standpoint, if you own the music, why would you take a chance and D/L something from a stranger, esp now you know all the boobie traps out there ? I agree spyware is crap. I am all for castration of virus/spyware writers. By the way, great SIG, I hope everyone has picked up the phone and called The Red Cross, or some other organisation and made a donation to those poor people. God Bless them all.
The RIAA should be fined millions for their infected WMA files.
This cracks me up. If I steal a car, and the brakes don't work, so I get to sue the guy who made the car ?. Crime or no crime, you are D/L'ing a file "illegally", and you want to complain when it messes up your computer ?
Ask this question: why would doctors and hospitals be interested in doing such a thing?
There are many conditions, esp. cardiac arrythmias, that if treated early, can prevent serious consequences. We are not talking full fledged medical exams, we are talking scoop and run, relay important info, and have ER staff standing by. As far as treatment in route, there is a sort of flow chart anyway, if this is wrong do this, if the patient has problems breathing, give oxygen. That is oversimplified, but I think you get the point.
on since the 1980's. I am an ER nurse. The paramedics would hook the pateint up, and we could watch his heart rate and beat. We could talk to them , and relay treatment plans.
are a little more tech savvy, on the whole. They have gone to the trouble to download a safer browser, and probably less likely to get sucked into a phish scam. OTOH, I have seen some pretty good ones, and I did click on a Pay Pal one, before I had second thoughts.
(OT) Does the CPU really affect game performance ? I am gettuing ready to build a system, I thought a midrange processor on a good MB, a high end card and 1 gig of ram would suffice. Does the CPU really matter ? If yes , P4 ? AMD64 ? Where to spend my hard earned christmas bonus ??
Thanks
ALL the victims of this horrific disease are innocent. Do you think someone should be condemmed to a lifetime of suffering for a few seconds of poor choice ?

Most big cities have free daily newspaper. Here in NYC we have at least 3 daily papers, with half a dozen or so weekly one. We even have a Spanish one.
But this one goes to ELEVEN !!
No one will buy them, because whoever buys them is liable to IBM in the counter suit. They will crumble and die a slow death.

seems nice, fast, haven't had any BSOD. The only problem, not many 32 bit apps run for me. You MUST run IE, WMP, etc. Windows 64

Ahh, but does it RUN LINUX ??
Mozilla is a full service suite, browser, mail client, HTML editor. FF is a lean mean browsing machine. Smaller footprint.
