Now that popups have become something of a nightmare for most users, I have found that most people I talk to are willing to try Mozilla just for the popup suppression.

I can only pray this comes true. I do unoffical tech support for our little (30 person) medical office. We do have an "real" IT department, but they are 1/2 mile away, and come only once a week, appointment needed. Recently we've been overrun by this piece of crapware called N-Case . This thing corrupts registry's, take over settings, and generally has been the biggest pain in my existance. We have had to reformat three machines just to get it off. Almost univerally it has been installed by someone clicking on a pop up to "Rid your machine of spyware".

I think anyone who writes this type of software should be sentenced to 20 years hard labor, or AOL dialup for the rest of their natural lives

Notice how since the last hearing, SCO has become *very quiet*. They issued a very short press release, and didn't hold the press conference that had been promised for after the hearing. McBride hasn't had anything to say since the Harvard thing.

The one thing that most impressed me about this case is the differance between the three companies. SCO makes these outrageous claims in the media "millions of lines of code, Thousands of files..etc" And then goes to court and says "we can't show you until you show us".

IBM and Novell are quietly behind the scenes, very professionally making their case. It is like a masterful game of chess, you see piece after piece being moved into place, for a final checkmate. Really a pleasure to watch.

Teachers get to write reports and give labels to students such as ADHD, or whatever. Why the hell cant students do the same?

Actually, a teacher cannot give you the "label"ADHD. It is a diagnosis, that can be given only by a medical/psychiatrist MD. Usually the teacher/ social worker and MD all fill out forms, they are compared, and then if the child scores "high" enough, they are given the diagnosis "ADHD" That said, I think Ritalin is handed out WAY too much in schools these days. When I went to school, these were "problem kids" who got a little extra attention, and usually came arround. Now we drug em and stick em in a corner, not very helpful I think in the long run.

I think the main differance is between rating someone low on a scale of one to five, and calling them a Bipolar Paranoid Schizophrenic. Even if you are just doing what the voices in your head tell you to do.

BTW for a really good look at schizophrenia, see "A Beautiful Mind", gives you alittle insight into early "treatment" or lack thereof for some psychiatric illnesses.

Even though his lawyer was able to prove there were no "actual" children harmed, he was convicted on something like "attempted child endangerment". I wish I could recall he details.

I've noticed this is some trucks, and large ambulances, they have a camera mounted on the back, and they have a small monitor above the dash. The camera has a fisheye lens, so they get pretty good coverage. I am sure this cuts down on backing into things/people. Above all I think the most important factor is an alert, attentative driver.
