I think that Trump's ridiculous statements have less to do with him being stupid than with him courting the stupid demographic.

Any politician that says "when I am president, I will do X" is doing the same thing. Presidents have no power to enact their policies, that is the job of congress.

The problem as far as I have seen was in the way the schools deal with it.

If you have a nut allergy, it can be on a range, from mild rash to full on anaphylactic shock.

The schools treat every nut allergy like the kid can't even smell nuts or they will keel over dead. They segregate the nut allergy kids from the rest on their own table in the "nut free" zone. This is an overreaction to something that could give the kid a mild rash if they eat it compared to will kill them if they even smell it.

  13. There was an arrest warrant issued, so that he can be "interviewed" which is a requirement for "charging". He was extradited, but skipped bail and hid in an embassy. This is a second thing he did illegal which could put him in jail.

The swedish legal system terms the prior to arrest differently, but it is the equivalent of every other legal system's charging step or the grand jury indictment if you prefer.

The extradition hearing in the UK was about a crime that he was being "charged" in, it just isn't called charged at that stage.

The post office isn't in control of the prices it charges. Haven't you noticed how much cheaper it is to send a package through USPS as opposed to FedEx and UPS? This is because Congress controls their prices and refuses to let them raise them to cover cost increases.

Amtrak is in the same spot, congress mandates the unprofitable lines and forces them to run them despite the lack of riders.

Also, it isn't possible to loose billions of dollars, it isn't an animal that you let loose. You can lose money though.

  19. Since you seem to think Mortgages are so easy to understand, please explain to me what paying a point means.

The issue with the financial crisis was that people were "sold" loans that were ARMs, and they didn't know what an ARM is. Adjustable Rate Mortgages look like a great deal, until the rate adjusts and you are stuck with your payment doubling overnight. This is something you would have to really understand to understand how it affects you. Many people took the loans not understanding that they were loans that were designed for investors, not people who intend to live in a house for 50 years.
