There's wide speculation that they have more coming; in fact, I was surprised they didn't announce two products yesterday. The Sholes in particular is supposed to hit big red before the end of the CY.

Moto's releasing a couple Android phones (Sholes on VZW and Morrison on T-M) by the end of the year. The "leaked" photos don't look abortions, fwiw.

  5. "Divine" Inspiration on Creativity Potentially Linked To Schizophrenia · · Score: 1

So I wonder if this a connection, however tenuous, between Inspiration--that is, the phenomenon by which creativity manifests, e.g. hearing that improvised lick, seeing that unpainted painting, the "pop" of a boundary pushing idea--and hearing voices or hallucinating? "God" is an alteration of reality via an alteration of perception, which is itself a result of genetic mutation.

    How's that for logical leaps.

Given the nature of the question and the frequency of its ilk, I don't think setting "out on their own" is to be taken lightly, or even expected with such an approach.

  11. Re:Spike on Keanu Reeves To Star In Cowboy Bebop · · Score: 1

"Nonchalantly" is not a word I would use to describe the last couple episodes. People criticize Reeves's acting because it is amateur at best, and uniformly too one-dimensional to work in this role. Mark my words: you will see Reeve's rendition of John Constantine here.

  12. Re:The Dark Knight on Batman Discussion · · Score: 1

Not to mention the fact that it sets up another parallel between Gotham's white and dark knights: Dent "took" the fall for Batman, and Batman eventually responded in kind. Going further, the former action closed the gap between white and dark, while the latter pushed them apart.

  13. Re:Silence? on Tom's Reviews Expensive, Noiseless Case · · Score: 5, Informative

To answer the question more directly, 28dB is considered the noise level of a quiet room, so less than that is accepted as "silent." If you see a dB(A), the (A) means that an A-weighted filter was used with the dB meter. reference

  14. App functionality on What's Keeping You On Windows? · · Score: 1

My experience with Linux, while relatively brief, deterred me from future use through a simple lack of complete functionality. I don't even dual boot anymore, but head straight to Win2k. I respect all the efforts put into the open source scene as a whole, but I found it difficult to get excited when, say, the new xfree drivers finally supported my Geforce video card whereas Windows had already had perfectly operational drivers for quite some time. Last I checked, I can't send files and check away messages at the same time under Gaim. Xine was cool when it worked. Creative Labs's open source SBLive drivers worked, but not well. Granted all of these problems have probably been improved since, I still can't justify waiting longer for a less-than-adequate program or driver for the newest application or hardware. In the spirit of a competitive market, if she has it and you don't, I go to her.
